Full bed?

My parents slept in a full size bed for over 20 years.

I like to spread out when I sleep.  So for me even a queen was cramped for the two of us. I love my king!  But everyone is different.

Darling Husband and I slept on my full sized bed when we first moved in together – about 3 months later, we bought a king sized bed haha he’s 6’2 225lbs so while it was ok for me, it was a bit small for him. If you guys are comfortable on it, keep it until you have the means/want to upgrade. If not, you can always keep it as a guest bed (if you have the space) and get something bigger for yourselves.

I see no issue with a full bed. My parents keep buying them even though they have the money and space for bigger.

My husband and I have a queen and it’s perfectly fine.

Here in New Zealand most people have full or queen. Don’t see King often. Mainly because houses on average here are a lot smaller than in America

I think you can definitely make do with a full

I bought myself a bed for my birthday early in my relationship with Darling Husband. I bought a full because that was what was in my budget at the time. It was hard sleeping in it with him but we made it work for several years. When I got a new bed a couple years back, I got a CalKing. It’s great but still not always big enough (especially when our kid likes to climb in for snuggles) But we recently heard about the Montana King and Alaskan King beds and we’ve been drooling about them ever since. I like nice sheets though and don’t want to have to buy custom everything.

While I’m not entirely sure what size a full size bed is (we don’t have that size in Australia), we currently have a queen with my 5’9″ and FIs 6′ ish self and we desperately want to upgrade to a king as soon as we can afford it after the wedding. Two full grown adults of our size just need more space to breathe lol.

Fiance is 6’2″ and I’m 5’4″, and we sleep in a queen (hoping to upgrade to a king soon!), but we sleep in a full sized bed when we visit my parents, and it’s not ideal for him. He doesn’t complain, but his feet are always hanging off the end of the bed. So, if he were any shorter, I would think it would work ok for a while, but since your Fiance is around the same height, I would just warn you about that! And let me tell you, good sleep is super important to a healthy relationship haha

Alyssa53 :  Yeah IMO youll need a queen! I hate full beds with two people, if hes tall then hell be especially uncomfortable. Is there a guest room the full could go in?

Alyssa53 :  FI and I have a king, we upgraded from a queen when we moved in together. We were in the queen for a while and neither of us slept. We both move, and I am a light sleeper.

We cannot wait to move to upgrade our queen to a king. My Fiance is 6′-2″ and the few nights he spent at my place in a full when we were dating were MISERABLE. I actually convinced him to split the cost of our queen bed with me when we had only been dating 5 months (and he lived a plane ride away) because it was so bad haha. We still sometime sleep separately when I really need to sleep, the queen is just too small.

I think if we had a double/full we might end in divorce. My husband is 6’3 and has to lay diagonally on a full to fit his legs on the bed which means I have to give up my leg room. We had a queen and even that was horrible. Now we have a California king and we’ll never go back.

Alyssa53 :  Fiance has a full bed and I hate it.  We will be buying a new one.  I am 5’6 but I sleep really spread out.  FI is 5’8.  We aren’t especially tall but I find it so uncomfortable!  We also have cats though so figure they take up some room too

My husband and I sleep just fine on a full size bed, even though we do move around in our sleep! But we’re both pretty short – I’m 4’11.5″ and he’s 5’8/9″. I’m not sure you’ll be comfortable with your SO being so tall!

You spend a third of your life in bed! Sleep comfort isn’t the place to skimp financially. I’d sleep for a few nights in a row in the full and ask your partner his opinion. I’d guess at his height that y’all need a queen at minimum.

My husband and I are both 6′ and we slept on a full size bed for a few years. I’m mostly a side sleeper so we usually both slept on our sides  Didn’t bother me for awhile but eventually it did!  We have a king now and I feel like it’s not even big enough sometimes but I think that’s because we have kids.  But for whatever reason my parents (6’4 and 5’8) still sleep on a queen sized bed.  Even when they were buying a new one my dad did not want a king sized bed.  I think they’re crazy but works for some people I guess.  When they were buying a new bed for one of their guest rooms I made them them get the queen size because their other guest bed was a full size and I HATED sleeping with my Darling Husband in it lol.
