So my BFF is getting married in June in Cambria, CA. It’s an almost-elopement, with the only guests being their parents, brothers and me & my SO. The bride is wearing a tea length cream lace wedding dress. Pretty fancy, but not formal. I have discoloration on my legs so I prefer to wear a long dress to avoid having to wear nylons on a hot day. I’m unclear if the wedding will actually take place ON the beach or just near it.
Any suggestions? I feel like wearing a maxi dress of some sort so there’s air flow & I’m covered, but I worry that it will be too informal and with 8 guests it’s not like I’ll blend in. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated!

I think you can totally pull off a maxi dress! It would be really cute if you did a solid colored one and then dressed it up with jewelry and dressy sandals!

Maxi Dresses can be great for a Beach or Summer Wedding… not dressy like a long gown, but still nice if they are the right fit, colour, etc.
Try to get more info from the Bride if you can, on the setting of the Wedding Ceremony … on the Beach, on the shore, or inland with a Reception sight that overlooks the water ???
The more info you have the better equipped you are to plan your attire.
The less fitted the dress… the more casual (ie tube top). So fabric and cut is important (particularly so in the boob area). If you can’t get feedback from the Bride… play it safe and go middle of the road… don’t wear something sooo informal it could be worn as a Bathing Suit coverup (cut & fabric). Don’t be afraid of pattern / prints … you can probably find something quite summery that would be perfect.
Hope this helps,

@bestbuddies: I thought that was fun, but still semi-structured so still formal-ish! 🙂 Good luck!
