Welcome to the Hive!

I know Davids has a few tea length, and there is one that I drool over.  Sure it had to come out AFTER my wedding.

Another good place to look is weddingshoppeinc.com.  I bought my dress at their brick and mortar store in MN, they have a lot to choose from.  You could always just get an idea of what you want.  Most dresses you can order in petite, but I was warned with some designers they change all the measurements for petites so you may have to order up a size.

I feel the same way about not wanting attention lol.  I am not sure what your budget is but I had bought a dolly couture dress.  They are really great to work with.  I am waiting for my dress to arrive and am so excited to try it on.

It’s not local by any means but I’d recommend Dolly Couture. They make cocktail & knee length dresses from vintage patterns- most under $700. Their showroom is in LA (I jsut got back from trying on a bunch last week) & they are great with allowing customizations at a reasonable price point (mixin & matchin skirts w/ tops & different fabrics). I’m not plus size but they have a great facebook page with alot of plus-size brides so you can get an idea for how the dresses fit in real life.

@Sweet_Tea:  doesn’t mean you can’t get something amazing. $700 is WAY more then I spent. Check David’s Bridal, Unique Vintage, and all the pre owned sites too.

If you have a designer dress in mind, dressilyme and jasmine’s bridal are trusted ‘replica’ dress sites.

Lightinthebox.com is overseas too, but legit. Well made too.

@Sweet_Tea:  ME TOO! I look taller in short dress. I have a smaller budgety and am going for vintage. Look at etsy.com. I am getting a custom knee length dress that I helped design for $230. The shop I’m going through has awesome reviews, the woman is from china but does most of her dresses for women living in the states. (I’d rather pay the maker directly, rather than pay $$$$ for a dress that was probably made by 20 people in a chinese factory, then marker up %50 by a store) Anyway… I’m ordering through wonderxue… I will post a link to an example of her work, but be sure to look at her other stuff, she has a lot of designs and don’t be afraid to ask for something unique!

I’ve ordered my tea length dress from a maker in London, England.  She has great reviews and I’ve been able to customize my dress as satin with a black mesh polka dot overlay, and red sash, with a custom  brooch and still keep it under $300, shipping included.  Now I just can’t wait to see it when it’s done!
