I think a photobooth would definitely wow guests! Maybe a DIY photobooth with lots of props would be even better. I doubt many, if any, people invited to your wedding would have experience with this! I get the idea that it’s kind of a newer idea.

Good luck!

Well, I wanted to do a faux-photobooth with a smaller side room, but Fiance wants to give out disposable cameras instead because he’s excited as to what his brothers (and brothers-in-law) might take pictures of…I’m not sure I like that idea, but we’ll see. Either way, we want to make it personal by having everyone take silly pictures and that sort of thing. We’re also planning a candy buffet, but I’m thinking that instead of just pre-packaged candy that we’ll make rock candy and lollipops to go with it and maybe even make some little petite fours to go with it.

DIY photobooths are definitely fun.  I’ve never been to a wedding that had a photobooth, but my parents have and they raved about it.

For my wedding, my little surprises will be smores (in lieu of cake) for dessert.  And, we’re having a local snowball stand give out snowballs during our cocktail hour.  Those are my two little “wow” things.

We are having an ice cream bar and I think we are going to do a lot of games. We are going to do like a tresure hunt and hide random things around the reception hall and I definitely want to do bingo somehow. I also thought about doing some sort of Rockband station, but am really worried I’ll not see Fiance and groomsmen the rest of the night!

Really, just let your imagination run wild! It helps if you think of it not as a wedding, but as a really awesome party! Think of the things that make you and your Fiance special and go from there.

Hope that helps! Let us know what you come up with!

@Nimiele

We’re doing something similar.  We are going to have a “winter” themed backdrop and going to have a friend hired on to take photographs with a polaroid camera.  Granted, the quality of the pic wont be that great, but I thought it would be fun to do.

I think a photoboothe would be great, if you know your guests will use it.

We are thinking about having a strolling magician perform at our reception.

My cousin had a photobooth at his wedding and it was so much fun. His sister got married in a barn and used the upstairs as their photo area — they had Polaroids and props for people to take pictures and put in a book.  Both ideas worked out really well.  I’d love a photobooth, but I don’t know if we’ll have the space.

I’d start thinking about what you and your Fiance like to do at parties or what some of your interests are. Then, think about how that translates into your wedding. You could have a special late night snack of your favorite food. Or, you could get your bridal party together to do a special dance to liven up the dance floor. You could do signature cocktails of your favorite drinks. You could make something crafty for your centerpieces.

Whatever you and your Fiance like to do, think about how you can express those interests to your guests.

Think outside the box and be genuine to yourself. Good luck!
