Hey bees, I need some major help picking a first dance song! We do not have a song, and it is SO hard to pick something out of nowhere!
I want some sort of an oldies song, from the 60’s or 70’s preferably, that is fun and not too sappy. And that is slow enough to dance to. We’re awful dancers so it’ll just be swaying around and the occasional silly spin, nothing too crazy.
I am looking for something upbeat and fun b/c I am a huge crier and don’t want to be sobbing through my first dance like a fool LOL!

I would also like covers of oldies songs by newer artists. Thanks!

Some friends of mine used Frank Sinatra’s “Love and Marriage”. It was pretty cute.
I also like the Beatles “When I’m Sixty-Four”.

really what you would consider ‘oldies’ but i’m LOVING the new Lionel Richie album that came out this week
he re did a bunch of songs but these stuck out as first dance songs – Endless Love (feat Shania Twain) – You are (feat Billy Currington)
They are awesome new takes on old songs

Our’s will be “Cheek to Cheek,” though we’re not sure which version yet. The original is by Fred Astaire, and it’s been covered by the likes of Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, and Frank Sinatra.
The Mamas and the Papas were another option we considered. “I Call Your Name” is a good song to check out by them.
