    Haha, I don’t think it’s that fun either!

    To be more specific, what I said in this conversation was that I HOPED I would be able to forgive him if he cheated, but I could not promise that. I could promise that I would try to forgive him. And my forgiveness would depend a lot on the circumstances. A one-night stand during a period when we were physically or emotionally distant is a much different thing from a sustained affair in which he actually fell in love or which resulted in a child. 

    I think he said if I cheated it would pretty much be over, and that’s ok with me. I’m terrified of the idea of sleeping with anyone else and can’t imagine that feeling changing.

    He says he’d forgive me because he does not ever want to get divorced. I don’t think I could forgive him if he did.

    Agreed. It’s easy to say you’d forgive this or that without actually being in the situation. I don’t think someone could really be prepared to forgive EVERYTHING – what if they molested your child? I mean c’mon.
