In the pantry. I don’t cook and he figured it was the last place a burglar would look for nice things 😂

So my husband only had the ring for 3 days before he proposed, but for those 3 days he kept it locked up out back in our shed. I NEVER went into the shed and honestly didn’t even know where the key was, so it was a good idea on his part.

It’s funny because he was CONVINCED I knew something was up because the day he came home with the ring, according to him, he basically raced thru the house to the back door to go out to the shed, hardly acknowledging me at all. Honestly, I didn’t even notice. I had no idea he had the ring or that he was planning on proposing that weekend.

We were living in my apartment at the time and had a second bedroom that we were using as a home office/second tv room.  I had a ceramic vase that I had made in high school sitting on the bookcase.  I was so proud of that vase, even if it was a bit lopsided.  He hid the ring in the vase because he figured if I knew he had it I would snoop in the obvious places like his sock drawer.  He only had the ring for a couple of days before he proposed and I didn’t know he had it.

The funny part was when he went to get it out the day he did propose, it was wedged in there in such a way that he almost broke the box getting it out.

crazychickenlady :  Yikes, that sounds pretty risky to me! What if you decided to put the boots on one day? Or get rid of them on a whim? lol  I’m pretty sure my husband kept my ring in one of his safes. No way I could stumble across it there lol I had no idea that he even had it made and that it was in his possession until he proposed. We were on vacation and he said he was so nervous about losing it while we were travelling and kept moving it throughout the room lol

My fiancé kept the diamond in my best friends safe until it was put into the ring a week before he proposed. He carried it in his backpack (where he stores his work laptop) and took the backpack with him everywhere.

My kids are nosey and always finding things or trying to find them around the house so he thought keeping it with him was better.

In his truck. He sat at the Fed Ex office and waiting until they were open. Once he got it, he was hosting a job fair at one of the local universities so he had it locked in the center console of his truck. He said he couldn’t stop thinking about it being there, what if someone steals his truck, what if someone breaks into the truck and finds it. He was so anxious he said. He went home early and when I got home he proposed. He said he just couldn’t wait. He was planning to propose a couple of months later at a local festival we planned going to and have a photographer there and make it this big grand thing. I never expected or wanted a Pinetrest proposal so it was perfect for me. Just him and I and our fur baby. I had no idea he bought a ring or was planning to propose.

crazychickenlady :  That’s so funny!! My fiance actually proposed the same day he got the ring, it was supposed to come in like a month before he got it, but the jeweler ordered the wrong setting so it had to be remade!! We were both so anxious about it that he just popped the question when I came home from work.

My fiancé had it out on his desk in the living room of our apartment for almost a month 😂

We’re more on the pragmatic side….

My now husband had the ring in his car door! I feel like that’s kind of risky but I didn’t have access to his car unless we were driving together. And obviously I would never think he would have hid it in the car.

It’s funny bc at the time he was living in a home that was probably 75+ years old with a lot of cool hiding spots so I figured it was somewhere in his house!

I also have a friend that got engaged pretty young so her now husband hid her ring for a long time. He kept it in their washing machine that no longer worked and was just sitting in their basement lol.

He bought the ring christmas eve and proposed new years day, so he didn’t have it too long but he hid it in our TV stand behind a bunch of DVD’s that he knew i’d never watch/move. And he was right, I had NO clue it was there lol!!

crazychickenlady :  Aww that’s all that matters 🙂 I couldn’t tell that my hubby was nervous at all, but he proposed on the second night of our trip, in part because I think he was ready to get it out of his possession LOL He had it in a little pouch in his pocket and kept checking for it throughout the night, but I was none the wiser.

I’m not engaged but my brother had me hold the ring for about a month for him. He was proposing on X-Mas eve that my cousin hosts. I also found a cute sign that said “the only I’d change about you is your last name…to mine” that he gave her right before he got down on one knee. She had no idea!

She had been going on and on about a promise ring and if I had heard anything about what my brother was planning (she got him a promise ring that xmas having no idea what was going on). I was laughing in my head so much and thinking….you’ll get the real thing in a few weeks!

My Fiance kept it in his backpack that he was using as a carry on bag for our vacation. He picked up the ring the same day he proposed, the morning we left for our vacation, so it was the spot that made the most sense. Other than it being an obvious place to hide it, it was a pretty safe spot since I’d never go in his bag unless I was specifically trying to snoop lol.
