Instead of a guest book, we are having a “thumbprint tree.”

On all of the tables at the reception, we are also making a really cute crossword puzzle featuring info about ourselves; we’re doing this hoping that it will be a conversation-starter for our families!

We’re doing Guestbook Color pages

And I guess depending your theme you could even have games (i saw this from the carnival wedding post)

I’ve seen an “i spy” picture  things here in the diy section

And we’ve also considered putting a “dance” song on each table that calls each table to get up and dance when their song is played (we’re having a brunch reception so we thought this might help getting people moving)

We’re thinking of doing a gormet s’mores bar. Picture different types of cookies (grahm crackers, shortbread cookies, chocolate cookies), different chocolates (dark, milk, andes mint, etc.)

I created a quiz with love quotes – guests had to match the quote to who said it. It was just something I put out during cocktail hour for fun, but you could turn it into a game. I have the quotes if you want them.

We also put out hula hoops. Instead of clinking glasses, guests had to hula hoop to get us to kiss. (We were outdoors on the beach; might not work as well in a more formal setting. :))

A roaming magician is another idea, if your budget allows.
