sparklesbelle:  congrats!!

the turquoise trail from albquerque to Santa fe is one of the prettiest drives in the SW. There are some little towns along the way too. Santa Fe has tons of little shops to poke around in and art galleries too. Have fun!!

What kind of things do you guys like to do? Which way are you driving thru Las Cruces? White Sands NP is fairly close to Las Cruces. It’s a very beautiful place and tons of fun. Albuquerque has many beautiful open areas that offer lots of hiking. The Natural Science and Nuclear Science museums are pretty good. The zoo is a nice zoo and very nicely priced – in state people are $9 and the out of state rate is barely more. The Botanic Gardens and aquarium are all attached to the zoo by a little train.

Santa Fe is nice if you like artsy stuff. We sometimes take the train up there for lunch and hit up the farmers’ market. The stores are way overpriced,  but it’s easy to find something to laugh about.

The Palace of Governors in Santa Fe is pretty amazing.

The High Road to Taos (from Santa Fe) is one of the most beautiful drives in the world.  Literally.  Lots of pueblos and sone really funny signs.  This is a picture of a sign I took in Taos:
