We’ve been renovating our backyard for our wedding, so we’re constantly at risk of injury.  The weekend before we took our engagement photos, we had to remove some brush from the woods.  We both ended up getting scratches all over our arms and you can see them in a bunch of the photos.  We were wearing long sleeves and pants, so it really wasn’t as bad as it could have been.  We look back and laugh about it.

Earlier this year, I had boudoir photos done as a gift for FI.  The weekend before I took those, we were digging trenches for some new steps in our yard, and I got a massive bruise on my leg.  This time, there was no way to cover that up because they’re boudoir photos.  That showed up in all of the pictures too and the photographer was like “yeah, I’ll try to edit that out of the final versions”.

So pretty much every time we have professional photos done, we do something stupid the weekend before and end up bruised and scratched in our pictures.

I broke my molar at my bachelorette party and had to get a crown 🙁

I stupidly (and drunkenly) opened a bottle of booze with my teeth and spit out a piece of tooth that had a filling in it. All I kept thinking after was “ok I’m still going to have a good time but please don’t let me wake up with a face tattoo) it all felt very “Hangover”

chronicwhimsy:  I’m pretty sure I burnt off the fingerprints on three fingers due to a hot glue related incident. I didn’t realize it had dripped a big glob onto the kitchen table and I leaned over to grab something and when I place my hand on the table, my fingers stuck right in the glue. Oh my God did that hurt.

Oh no… for everyone! I am *knock on wood) hoping nothing like that happens to me in the next month. I do have another week of volleyball, but we aren’t playing again until November – so that helps with the chances of me twisting an ankle (or worse), or more importantly… not getting hit in the face.

I can only attribute it to wedding stress, but I now have pneumonia.  17 days to the wedding and I have pneumonia.

chronicwhimsy:  Just a few days ago I cut my knuckle pretty deeply with a kitchen knife.  I didn’t know what to do when it happened, ER or take care of it myself, but wanted to avoid the $100 copay so with blood dripping everywhere, I wrapped it tighly and kept it elevated until the bleeding stopped.  Monday I was able to get to the doctor for liquid stitches, but it’s so swollen and I haven’t been able to bend it in days.  Very uncomfortable and wil leave a nice scar for my wedding day in November!!!

I went to Vegas to choose a venue, and left with a hangover. Does that count?

Plenty of papercuts from invitation stuffing… Smashed thumb from a bin of decorations falling on my hand… and not exactly an injury, but I got a lot of silver spray paint on a shoe when I dropped it.  I was ok, but my shoe didn’t make it.

I made 300 truffles for my wedding and ended up burning myself on the double boiler about a month out on my ring hand.  We actually practiced DH’s hand or fingers covering up the scar on my ring hand.
