Oh this is great!!!

For my Senior Prom 2006, I wore a RED HOT silk dress with a slit up the side. I LOVED the dress and wore it again in college for a Sorority formal.

My wedding dress is NOTHING like my Prom dress! I have a big lace ballgown!

I’m pretty sure mine are similar. Prom (2006 or 2007?) was a pale yellow fit and flare style with beading and my wedding dress is a mermaid style (I think?) with ruching and minimal detail.

My prom dress, 2011

My wedding dress, 2014

They are actually pretty similar! I guess I love A-line dresses and beading.

I don’t have any pictures of me in my prom dress, my house was destroyed in 2008 taking any memories with it 🙁 but this was the closest dress I could find to what I wore in 1999.  It was a black sheath dress with a VERY low back.  At the time I was almost kicked out of my prom because the back was so “revealing” you couldn’t see anything but my back but apparently that’s scandalous lol. The difference between what I wore and the dress pictured is my dress only had a strap on each side of my arms that basically only wrapped around my shoulder before attaching to the side of the dress to prevent boob slipage.  There also was no halter top to it nor lace.  It was all black and really simple and the back stopped just above my booty crack.  I loved it and wish I still had that dress.

Here is my wedding dress which is fit and flare and will be altered to be more mermaid style.

Love this thread! It definitely seems there is a correlation between the cut of some of you ladies’ prom dresses & wedding dresses. Awesome!

I haven’t picked my wedding dress yet, but I can say with 100% certainty it will cover my chest much more than my prom dress did! I enjoyed having DD’s back in high school; now, they’re more of a burden than anything lol

How fun is this thread! The differences are stark in comparison!

This picture is not actually from my prom which was in 2004 and I did not have a digital camera back then. But I wore this dress again to a wedding in 2010 so here she is in all of her turquoise glory. Mermaid gown by Jessica McClintock. My dad added the crystal neckline upon my request, though I didn’t have it for prom.

And this is the wedding dress I chose. Totally different in silhouette, but looks like I still love me some bling!

I love this too! I guess I didn’t think about it until I saw this thread, but my prom dress was black satin with silver embroidery, and my wedding dress was ivory with dark gray/gunmetal beading…Seems like some style elements live on! Keep being true to your style, ladies!

@CestTresJolie14:  haha, they do! I wanted to try on a galit when I went to a salon in my area but I was afraid to fall in love since I knew it was out of my budget.  I ended up getting my pnina for a steal so it worked out.  Cant wait to see your wedding day photos!
