Does it have to be an actual house?  I live in Chicago, and I wouldn’t want to live in the ‘burbs (nothing wrong with that, it just doesn’t fit with my work/home life).

I would choose the house if it meant the “house” was a penthouse apartment with an amazing view and top-notch ammenities.  Otherwise, I’d probably choose the diamond, but I’d want it to be a pink Argyle diamond!

LittleButtons:  Considering I am currently trying to find housing with the PICKIEST MAN EVER, I would take that big beautiful house. That way I wouldn’t have to spend one more Saturday listening to what’s wrong with the top-floor marina-view apartment I want. Anyone have some wine?

If the diamond is of investment quality (i.e. The Hope Diamond), then I’ll chose the diamond.

If the car is a classic, one of a kind car (i.e. Lamborghini Veneno), then I’ll chose the car.

However, the possibility of me being THAT rich means I wouldn’t need the “status symbol” because people would automatically know I’m rich.

Which points out to the house.  It’s the only asset that would normally appreciate in value over time given a fairly sizable (but not unique) diamond and a fairly great (but not one-of-a-kind) car.

A house for me! I could care less about diamonds and cars, but a big beautiful house would be awesome. My husband and I have a smaller house, 1064 sq ft, and although its a nice house I know its going to start to feel cramped when we have children. It would be so nice to have a house big enough that our extended family could come and stay and not feel like sardines packed in a tin. Plus I dream of a huge kitchen with a six burner gas range, granite countertops, big custom fridge, etc. And a dishwasher! I love hosting for holidays, but I hate doing the dishes afterwards.

Definitely the house. It’s so much more useful than the other two while simultaneously being the flashiest out of the three. 😉

House, but not too big. I’d like a lot of land with a larger than normal house…say 2,000 sq ft?

Ooooh really tough call. Not the car. My heart wants the diamond. Can it be a really large 4 or 5 carat natural pink one!? Since we’re just playing? I’ll just wear it around the house if it feels too ostentatious. With sweats!

Our house is already nice enough and big enough for the family, though that is still awfully tempting.

Can I pick a small beautiful house instead of a big one? I really don’t want to keep a mansion clean. Too much trouble.
