@EMCasey:  So you want old music? I’m in my 40s so I can suggest 70s/80s songs e.g.

Don’t Stop (Fleetwood Mac); You’re my best friend (Queen); Crazy Little thing called love (Queen again); Modern Love (David Bowie); Beat It (Michael Jackson), are ones which come to mind. Am I on the right track?

Are you talking about a specific dance (like your first dance) or ust generic usic during the reception. If you have a DJ, I’d just let them handle it. It’s their job. They know how to get people to dance.

@EMCasey:  “Out of my League” by Fitz and the Tantrums.  It’s a fun song you can dance to and it’s not in the Top 40 that I’m aware of.

@EMCasey:  Reet Petite by Jackie Wilson and Mustang Sally are fun older songs. Satisfaction by the Rolling Stones. Reach Out…by the Four Tops, or maybe it’s the Temptations. Love Really Hurts Without You. Im so Excited or Jump by the Pointer Sisters. Uptown Girl by Billy Joel. Dont Stop Believing by Journey. Africa by Toto. From the 90s I like Sunshine after the Rain, Cotton Eye Joe, Ice Ice Baby, Hammertime C’est la Vie etv for some cheesy fun.

Ain’t No Mountain High Enough – Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell

Get What You Give – New Radicals

Feel-goods! I might have a few more in mind which I’ll post later when they come to me… 🙂

I always like dancing to songs by Junior Senior… but that’s a little on the quirky side. my favorite song of theirs is “Can I Get Get Get”.

Also, The Ting Tings (they were popularish from 2008-2009)

The Scissor Sisters and Mika are also fun.

It’s hard to give suggestions without knowing what type of music you normally listen to.

For more traditional songs, maybe look into INXS, Hall & Oates, etc.

December 63 Frankie Vallie is always a good one. Smashmouth, September Earth Wind and Fire, Imgin Pop, Katrina and the Waves, Journey, there are so many that aren’t top 40 but  Iam having a hard time with “within the last 10 years lol! We arent playing anything like that either but a few very current very fast dance songs.
