Hi there! I just got a BFP and am looking for a surprising or fun way to tell my husband. He is conviently out of town all week, so I have some time to make plans 😉 There are a few things I can work with: 1) he comes home on our 6 month wedding anniversary, so I could give him a wrapped box and play it off as an anniversary gift, 2) my due date is Christmas Day, which could be fun to incorporate 3) months ago I bought a onesie that days “I love my Daddy”, which could be a fun gift to give him 4) he proposed right in our own kitchen, so I could tell him in the same spot.
I’ve been on Pinterest looking for some ideas and nothing is jumping out at me. I’d love any ideas you have, or I’d love to hear how you told your SO the news.

Throw that pee stick in his face and cheer with excitement 😉
or I always loved how Aunt Becky told Jesse on Full House!

Miss-Joker: Haha that’s adorable!
OP, I like the onesie idea 🙂

I like the onesie idea incorporating it into your special spot in your kitchen. Maybe ask him to stand in the same spot and present him with the gift saying something about this being the spot where you changed my life forever, and this is the spot where I will change your life forever. Something super cheesy like that!

SaraP2012: I like the cheesiness – can I say that without laughing though?

Congrats! And you have so many fun options that I think it’ll be amazing no matter which one you choose! But…I just don’t know how you can handle the SUSPENSE! Ahhh that would kill me!

Darling Husband and I just watched the last couple of weeks of Parks and Rec… when Leslie finds out she’s pregnant, someone says something about her “stressing for two”. We started joking about telling our families via a t-shirt that says “stressing for two”, since I am often a huge ball of stress. I feel like that (or a variation that works for you) would be fun for your Darling Husband too!
I bought The Bro Code for Parents for Darling Husband and am hiding it until we get a BFP. Though I sort of think I will end up waving a pee stick in his face before I can get out the book.
Oh, and congrats!!!

congrats! I wouldn’t be able to wait very long to tell him! You could always say something cute like “we are so glad you are home! We missed you!” And see if he gets it (or that you have just developed multiple personalities).

SaltedCaramel: Is that a good book for fathers-to-be?

Congrats! I just got my BFP yesterday so while Darling Husband was at work I ran out and picked a few little baby things (blanket, onesie…) and a blank card. I put everything in a bag with the positive tests (yes tests!) in the bottom of the bag. I just told him it was a just because gift and he had no clue until he pulled the tissue paper off the top and saw the baby blanket. He was definitely in shock but very excited! I’ve been waiting months to be able to do this.
