I’m newly pregnant (so new, in fact, that only my husband knows and I didn’t want to post under my regular user name just yet) and looking for fun ways to tell our parents. What did you ladies do to announce your pregnancy?

My brother presented my parents with a set of baby shoes.
My other brother got my mom a sweatshirt that said “World Sweetest Grandma.”
I just called them. I’m not that imaginative or patient, LOL!

Thanks, MightySapphire! This will be the first grandchild for my parents and my husband’s, so we were hoping to do something special. It’s been so hard keeping it a secret; I’ve had to keep all my phone conversations to 5 min or less with my mom, otherwise, I know I’ll spill the beans!
Anyone else do anything fun to announce their pregnancy?

My mom is a quilter so I showed her a cute quilt pattern and asked if she thought she could have it made my August…. it took her about 2 secs to figure it out 🙂
I trained my 3 year old niece to tell my brother he has a new name and it was ‘Uncle Josh’. Her talking isn’t always clear – she likes to whisper… so my brother was like.. you mean Uncle Todd (my husband).. thinking she was confused. It took a little bit longer but was super cute.
That was as creative as I got 🙂

You could have them over for dinner and make like baby carrots, baby lamb, baby spinach salad, and those little things that look like baby corn?
I dont know! Just thowing that out there!
Maybe they will get the hint.

I may be aging myself here, but that’s totally how Aunt Becky told Uncle Jesse she was pregnant on Full House!

YES! A Full House reference!! Love it, LOL. That’s called a Baby Dinner. Don’t forget the baby back ribs!

my friend gave out mini baseballs with a baseball card like card that announced their baby [his wife and him are both huge baseball fans]. and mrs. lemon made an awesome package for both sets of parents: http://www.kimberlymichelle.com/2009/08/27/special-delivery/
you have tremendous willpower to not have leaked the news already! congrats!

Congrats on your pregnancy!
I loved Mrs. Lemon’s idea that I posted about here: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/awesome-ways-to-tell-your-hubby-that-youre-pregnant#post-1065873 and there were some other great ideas in that thread!

If Darling Husband and I become pregnant soon, we hope to RSVP to my sister’s June wedding with “2 adults and 1 child”. The RSVP card is due May 1st, so we will see if the timing is right. My mom and sister are way overexcited for me to get preggers – my sister was actually looking for Maid/Matron of Honor dresses for me that would look cute with a baby belly! I had to explain that I probably would not be showing!
So yeah, if it happens, they will figure it out by the RSVP card! I might not mail it though…I want to see their reactions.

I forget where I heard this one, but someone who already had a child decided to dress him in a t-shirt that said “big brother”. Then people who saw the t-shirt knew that another baby was on the way 🙂
@heathaah — I totally love your RSVP idea!

My Maid/Matron of Honor and her Husband did a pinata at his birthday party. Inside the candy was little candy baby bottles, sugar babies, baby ruths and whatever candy pertained to baby. It was super cute although it took us awhile to figure it out!

My friend did the cutest little ornaments for her family since she announced it around Christmas. She posted about it here: http://www.thebabycove.com/2010/02/momma-pearl-finding-out-telling-everyone.html
