I remember her checking my fundal height, the baby HB, urine, my Bridal Party and weight every appointment.

The last couple of weeks she moved on to pelvic exams and the baby’s position.

My doctor started fundal height a bit earlier than normal because my uterus felt high (and thus I seemed further along) so I think I was only about 14 weeks when she started. Now they do it every time since I’m continually measuring ahead. I would think by now they would be doing it. Maybe they don’t use an actual measuring tape and instead trust their judgement when they are feeling your uterus? I’m sure every doctor is different.

My OB has been using a tape measure, starting at around 22 weeks, I think? My last appointment was at 26 weeks and I think I’ve been measured twice so far.

My Dr just measured mine for the first time my last appt. I was 19w3d. Otherwise they normally just check my weight, Bridal Party, urine and baby HB. He used a clothing tape measure. Not sure when he started with my first pregnancy as this is my 2nd but I had just had an u/s done and my placenta is almost touching my cervix so not sure if that is why or not.

He measured by hands the first few visits, measuring tape from 20 weeks. 🙂
