Hahaha I love these! My fiance’s favorite response to “What are you doing to help me plan for the wedding?” is:

“I don’t know. Show up I guess.” That’s become a running joke between us.

Also, when I went to go buy my dress he was like well where are you going to put it? I was just like “Honey, it takes like 4-5 months just to come in”. In his defense, some people do buy dresses off the rack and take them home the same day, but it was cute all the same.

@mishagirls79: BEES! hahahaha.

I was talking to Future Mother-In-Law about the fact that I won’t be wearing a veil. FH walks in the room and says “Veil, what’s a veil?” Future Mother-In-Law and I look at him ?? He says “oh that mesh thing you wear over your face, yeah you’re not wearing that.” well, at least we agree!

This is the same guy that asked me about 5 years ago what the difference betwen a skirt and a dress was. 😉

He also said “why do you get TWO rings and I only get ONE!” I told him he could have two if he wanted!

Me: How much do you think the flowers are going to cost?

Him: About £50 ($80)

Me: Um – I think it’s going to be more like £200 ($320)

Him: WHAT?! You can get flowers from the supermarket for a tenner!!

I’m a waiting bee, but I thought I would share:

I have a hard time shutting up about wedding things. I guess I need to scale it back, because last night SO mumbled in his sleep, “I think that goes well with the pink.” Poor SO! (I don’t wear pink or own anything pink, but I definitely want to have pink flowers. He’s definitely talking about our future wedding.)

When I remarked about how much had been accomplished (booking the photographer, caterer, baker, florist, etc. ) where I had done the research, priced options, met with vendors, etc.

“This wedding is really just planning itself…”

REALLY?

In his defense, he has a job where he HAS to be on the sales floor or meeting with distributors and wineries until 6 every weekday and I have “flex time”, so I have more available time for appointments during the day.  But REALLY?

@rainbowglitterbride:  oh my fi doesnt get the cost of everything. he thought we could get a pro photographer (and he had examples of good photographers, but the websites didnt have prices) for an entire day for well under 1000 dollars. he looked at me like i was on drugs when i said the average price…until i got him prices from the ones he liked

oh and “a wedding cake? whats that – around 50 dollars?”. er no. for 100 people, a wedding cake is most definitely not 50 dollars.

one of my favorites though was…”what do you mean its tradition to sleep apart the night before the wedding [we live together] where will i go?! where will i sleep?!” looking all stressed and sad like im going to throw him onto the street with a sleeping bag

@Merelymere:  bwahahaha. my fi thinks our wedding is mysteriously planning itself/uber simple too. he doesnt get why im so stressed about the details. when i present him with 2-3 options and we choose together – thats not the only planning. theres a background of several days researching different vendors that got those 2-3 options!

Not sure this counts since it was *at* our wedding, but I returned to my seat after having been to the ladies room – DH said ‘Where’d you go?’ and I replied ‘I got bustled!’ He gave me a look of intense concern and said ‘Oh, honey! I’m so sorry!’ He thought ‘bustled’ was some kind of code word for throwing up!

I’m a waiting Bee too… but still talking over some pre-planning. I bring up photographers and he’s like “what? You want a photographer at this thing?”

SPEAKING OF COSTS!!!

We got engaged 2/11/12. One of my best friends got engaged in January. During some, “When we get married” conversation, I had tried to tell my beloved how much it costs to use the bar/liquor at a venue vs. having a place where you can supply your own.  I used to do catering and he is a wine/beer buyer so I was trying to kind of steer him in the direction I was thinking would be best for us (him getting it wholesale) when the time came (little did I know, that would be a few weeks away!)…Anywho, engaged friend and her now-fiance’ had been planning things for awhile before the actual engagement and she had gotten quotes on those giant markups in her venue research, so she calls one day while he and I are in the car to ask him what he thought it would cost to do beer/wine for X number of guests and she was telling him the cost of it through a couple of our local venues.  I thought he was going to run off the road. He had NO CLUE what putting “WEDDING” in front of a request adds to a price. Photography?  Food? Venue? He was blissfully unaware. Poor thing.

I told him I wanted purple and gold for the wedding and he asked if he could wear a gold lame suit like Elvis Presley – he was kidding but I thought he was serious. After I calmed down, he asked for a gold fedora – I honestly don’t think he was kidding about that lol!!!

Oh, Fiance says funny shiz all the time, but my favorite one is about Pinterest, which I pretty much do from my iPhone all the time.

A few days ago, I showed him a photo of a tuxedo, and he said, “yeah, that’s nice.”. I said, “Great! I’ll put it on the wedding board.” He yells out – “NO! DON’T BUY IT RIGHT NOW!!”

Um.

He thought I was BUYING everything I pinned to Pinterest.

He’s never actually been on Pinterest himself, but still.

Hilarious.
