I’m thinking two per table! Just so most people can reach it 🙂

8 people around a table really isn’t that many so I think one set is just fine. It’s not a big deal to ask the person next to you or across the table to pass the salt.

I go to alot of events and 2 is really needed, trying to get the salt from across the table is really awkward and takes forever.

I say 2 sets as well. I have at least that many for Thanksgiving dinner for 6 of us.

Oh I’d say 1 set per table would be plenty! Guests can share & mingle 🙂 Asking someone to pass the salt is almost as interesting as talking about the weather!

Usually when I was a server we’d have 1S/1P per table of 6. Any more guests than that and you’d have about 1 set per 4/5 people. So for a table of 8 or 9 I’d have two sets. Tables of 12 I’d have three just because of the length of time passing back and forth and interrupting people who are eating and keep having to pass back and forth.
