At a coworker’s wedding, they wanted the big final fanfare from the 1812 Overture to play as they recessed. Triumphant, happy, just a little bit unexpected. Sadly, either they didn’t make their wishes clear enough or the sound tech guy wasn’t good at his job – in any case, he started the track at the beginning instead of at the requested spot. And the beginning of the 1812 Overture is not exactly triumphant. Great idea, poor execution.
So . . . if you are doing something unorthodox, just make very, very sure your Sound Guy knows what he’s doing!

- Wedding: August 2016 - Galleria Marchetti
We did “Just the Two of Us” by Bill Withers and Grover Washington. It was the instrumental version and sounded AWESOME. We had a piano, guitar and a bass.
We also considered “The Good Life” by Kanye West, but our band director advised against it (for instrument reasons).

We ended up using “All I Want is You” from Juno and it was a hit!

we’re using champagne supernova (lots of different reasons, but one was that my dress was handmade and the seamstress said she listens to music when creating her dresses, and my dresses ‘song’ was champagne supernova… when I opened the package and went to tell FH, he was listening to it at the time! Out of the thousands of songs he owns, that just happened to be on… so yeah. We had to include it somewhere)… but I’m kinda wishing I read this thread first! I’m thinking some of these could be great bridal party entrance songs 🙂 Everything is awesome sounds like a great idea! And I already have the songs from Juno and the wedding singer on the playlist for somepoint…
My bestie had ‘highway to hell’ as her husbands request for the recessional (typical Aussie ‘bloke’ so it fits… even if it seems a little mean)! To be honest, no one even noticed it… oh well.
