My dad never ever wears suits or anything formal really. We were discussing his attire for the wedding. He doesn’t want to buy or rent a suit, so his plan was to try on a suit he wore in my uncle’s wedding. Twenty-five years ago. “Uh, dad, that doesn’t seem like a solid plan. It’s not gonna fit.” “Oh, I’ll just leave it unbuttoned.” 😐
Mom’s back up plan was to troll the thrift shops looking for a black jacket he can wear with “the black pants he already has.” Which I was actually okay with until I remembered they’re black chinos, like cotton khaki material. Ufffff…😩

I was chatting with my Mom about how I didn’t know which one of my BM’s should be my Maid/Matron of Honor. Her reply “make me your Maid/Matron of Honor, you were mine”….. Like what?!? No. You just be a Mom and do Mom stuff that day thanks Mom. So odd. She’s had some other gems that escape me at the moment.

My mum sometimes says things without thinking so when I told her my wedding date she me told that was when she books time off from work, so I thought she was happy, but then I get a message asking me to change my wedding date, because thats when she was planning to go away. I don’t think she realised that the wedding was booked and she asked me to have a September wedding.

Not family related but I guess I’m looking for vendors too soon for my July 8, 2017 wedding! I have gotten numerous emails back from different wedding vendors saying I “need to get on planning” and “I’m so lucky that they have the day open or they are sorry they are booked” for my July 8, 2016 wedding. I feel bad sending an email back because I’m really clear that it is for next year and write the date at least 2 different ways in each email. I guess it’s close to wedding season and they’re super busy but each time I just sit there shaking my head. I wait a day before responding only one has replied back saying oops sorry I see this is for next year!

- Wedding: July 2016 - New Hope Presbyterian Church/Graystone Quarry
I told my little brother (high school aged) that our wedding theme is shabby chic. He asked me if I thought it would be a little culturally insensitive to have an Arabian themed wedding?
I was so confused until I realized the child thought I was saying “shabby sheikh.” I died.

My sister is low key, no frills etc…
I told her “you know you have to dress up for our wedding, right?”
she said “then you need to let me borrow a dress because the only dress I have to wear is MY own wedding dress”
I don’t know why it was so hilarious. Maybe because I was so stressed or it’s because she’s the type to actually do that! But picturing her showing up in her wedding dress had me hysterically laughing. We’ll take sister bride pics together… Lol idk it was truly funny at the time:)

Kannon: I have an aunt who turned 100 this past January. For years she’d been saying, “I hope I live long enough to see you get married.” In the months leading up to our wedding, every time we’d see her, she’d say, “I think I’m gonna make it!”. On the actual day, “I MADE IT!, “I MADE IT!” That really tickled me. LOL!

MyMom – “My friend’s daughter is a wedding photographer – you should use her”
Me – “Thanks, but we booked a photographer literally a year ago”
My Mom – “Oh okay maybe you can use her next time”
Freudian slip! Haha.

Future Mother-In-Law told me that I can’t dress my bridesmaids in yellow because it’s not flattering on Future Sister-In-Law. 1.)I wasn’t planning on anyone wearing yellow in the first place. and 2.) I did not even ask Future Sister-In-Law to be a bridesmaid, she just kind of assumed
