@piglet_625: ha! those are funny. yeah, the letters are always funny. i remember getting one from him that was really neatly written, and then all of a sudden it starts getting sloppy and then really big letters and i couldn’t make out, and he told me after that they were doing the lights out countdown and he had to hurry. it was cute.

@piglet_625: how cute. he didn’t say anything funny… but did weird stuff. like write me while he was on the toilet (great, right?) lol and then he would write in the middle of the night and i couldn’t even read what he said. LOL. words overlapped and it was hilarious! πŸ™‚

when my nephew was in bootcamp he would write some smoking hot letters to his now wife.  the entire family would write to him daily – he would get a dozen letters or more every mail call while some got nothing, that broke my heart

@piglet_625: im in australia but my friends husband is a marine and i adopted one of his buddies during his last deployment – poor kid never got any mail or packages.   i know hearing from an old married chick isnt hot but at least he knew someone was thinking of him πŸ™

About 2 and a half years ago my husband (then boyfriend) and I were both unfortunatly deployed at the SAME time to the SAME place. We both were in the desert together, he went out first for a bit, in the middle of our time deplyed combined we both were there, he of course went home before me. People thought we were lucky to be there and “over-lap” and get to see e/o. It actually sucked. it was a tease. Couldnt be together, no PDA of any kind, not even holding hands. Would see each other in passing more than anything. We were out there for Thanksgiving, xmas, my birthday and V-day. At that point in was the fisrt time in 3 years we were at LEAST in the same Country for xmas. In which I passed him early xmas morning when he got back from a flight I was gearing up for one, and gave him a “first xmas together” ornament. It sucked but like I said. at least we were in the same Counrty for once. Some may think at least I got to see him, no I would have rather have been at home ( or deployed) completley w/o him vs. the tease of seeing him in passing, not being able to hug or hold him. We would pass stupid little notes in our gear or under our doors to e/o to at least make eachother smile.

The funny letter you talk about made me think about it and made me smile. A lot of times we would IF possible stay up late or get up early (after a 18hr day, day after day, thats hard) just to see e/o outside and say HI.

So the funny letters and notes are what get us ALL through these times in so many different situations!!!

Its something only us Military gals can appreciate, the small things, the letter that dont make sense and were written in early am hours, or quickly scribbled out to get it off in time and dificult to read. Regardless if we can understand it or not we LOVE it, we wait for it, and we cherish it. Its what gets us through. You ever chuckle or REALLY have to bite your tongeue when you hear someone complaing out there Husband or Boyfriend or Best Friend (non mil of course) or whatever having to go away for the weekend. Holding back the “oh PLEASE”! Like I said, us Military gals are a different “breed” of women! So here is to you ALL! The “toughest girls I know, the Military wife/FI/GF!

When FH was in OCS he sent me a cookie bouquet. When I got it I was shocked because it looked like a sympathy basket. The main cookie was a cross that said, “You’re in my thoughts” and it had a bunch of flower cookies. Turned out he meant to send a love one but only had 3 min. to order it so he went as quickly as he could and got the numbers messed up. From time to time he will send me a sympathy cookie bouquet just because πŸ™‚

@Piglet- so true! That made me giggle. What a good way to put it! I wish he was home to leave his siocks on the floor or leave the toilet seat up. I have a cousin who complains everytime her Boyfriend or Best Friend is gone for a WEEKEND, or if its a couple weeknds she does have him home in one month heaven forbid. Thank goodness its over the phone so she cant see me rolling my eyes as she complains. Because about all I can get outa my mouth us “Yup, look who your talking to, I get the whole being away from the one ya love” but no, stillllll doesnt register! HA!

@Just Love- Thats HILARIOUS! Thats soo stinkin funny!

Something I heard somewhere, sometime was how a woman’s S.O preordered flowers to get delivered to her from time to time and had little cards with words of love on them.

I wanted to somehow suggest this to Fiance to see he if got the hint, but no πŸ™ lol

I do get count downs until we see each other and photos of how big he’s getting over there though! lol
