@galloway111: I’m getting ready before the wedding 6 minutes down the road at an inn I’ll be staying at the night before. I’ll arrive at the venue about 1.5 hrs. before the ceremony so my Fiance figured he could use my bride’s suite to change into his tux. I was fine with this, until I realized he wanted to access to it the whole time. Where am I to hide from him before the ceremony in my huge honkin’ dress? When I pointed out to him that, a) I have a large dress b) the bride’s suite has carpeting and lots of room and mirrors for me and bridesmaids c) it is called the bride’s suite and d) there is a door leading from it directly to the ladies room, (logistics anyone?) he pouted and said, “Fine, I’ll just get changed in the dirt.”

He was referring to this outdoor patio…the same patio he was so excited about hanging in weeks ago. *sigh* Silly, silly man. Of course, I wanted to be sure his needs were met, and had the coordinator return him to the groom’s dressing room that was, surprise surprise, bigger and brighter than he’d remembered. Finally, the coordinator showed him an entire separate building with dressing rooms for everyone on his side of the party and himself. It is on the opposite end of the venue so there is no worry of us running into each other before the ceremony. This separate building is just his style and he is very, very happy he has a good spot to change and relax, as am I. No, he will not get changed in the dirt after all. 😉 LOL

My Fiance is Catholic and most of the weddings he’s been to have been catholic ceremonies. He is very concerned about the length of our ceremony and recently suggested we hire an auctioneer to be our officiant. Not to auction me off, but just to move things along.

@Cornflakegirl:

yeah it was probably the most random thing he has ever said in the entire 5 years we have been together. I still bring it up and giggle about it to him, and he just shrugs and is like, “what? I thought it would be neat.”

We were watching my nieces, 2 1/2 and 7 mos, and he was sitting at the table with the 2 yr old having lunch. The baby was in one of those bumbo chairs (they’re thsese molded rubbery chairs that help babies sit upright) on top of the table with them, and Fiance said to her “You look lovely here!”, and turned to me and said, “That’s what we can do for centerpieces…… babies in bumbos. It’ll be all the rage!”

This is a post I read back when I first joined and it made me laugh so hard and I’ve always remembered it:

“Glow in the dark raver gloves. That is what he wants for our reception. WTH??

He is not a raver, I am not a raver… but he thinks would be sooo cool. We have been emailing back and forth for like 30 minutes talking about these things (he’s at work) I suggested maybe glow in the dark bracelets would be better/more practical… more people would wear them. LESS EXPENSIVE! and his response? “LMFAO, these have 7 different settings… you think bracelets would be better??????”

Oh boy.”

I just love “LMFAO these have 7 settings.”

@mwitter80: Haha my Fiance said the same thing about cupcake dresses! Maybe that’s a guy thing. Good thing my dress is sort of a cupcake 🙂

@KatNYC2011: It cracks me up how guys express their opinions about wedding dresses – my fiance said he thinks I’d look pretty in any style, but just hopes I don’t get one “that looks like a wedding cake.”  No tiers for me lol

He suggested he arrive at the ceremony via zipline.

He also didn’t understand the point of DOC because “we can do that all ourselves,” which I had to explain to him the point was not to do it all ourselves.

Some of the funnier things:

What type of dress do you think I should wear? He said “something fitted at the top and whatever is easier to take off at the end of the night, maybe some of that fluffy stuff on the bottom but not too much fluff and maybe no grandma looking ones” – SO what exactly is grandma looking one??

When we met with a limo guy that was WAY too expensive he concluded that this is a great guy who is not BSing us and is willing to work with us (he was asking for $2,200 for a 24 passanger hummer) – long story short we booked the same limo with a different company for $1,300

The rest of our planning goes like this:

me: what do you think of this?

him: do you like it?

me: yes

him: then I like it too..

SO MUCH FOR CARING!

My Fiance and I went registry shopping last weekend…an experience I was looking forward to, because what girl doesn’t love to shop especially for stuff that she doesn’t have to buy!  We’ll I’m going to say it was definitely an experience…

Fiance didn’t understand why you needed more than two towels and why things had to match.

Fiance:  “It’s not like you use more than two towels at a time now do you?”  and “They have to match?  What?  I thought I could just pick out my favorite color/design and they will still work!”

The experience finally got a little easier once we got the kitchen stuff…there was less color picking in that section.  Except for when we got to plates/dishes…

Fiance: ”Why do we need plates we have plenty of plates”

Me: “Yes, babe we have plenty of hand me down plates, this is the time where we can get the once that ‘match’ our décor”

Fiance:  “What??? There’s that ‘matching’ word again…I don’t get it!”
