I make and decorate cakes for all occasions. Today, I met with a couple that is about to celebrate their 15th anniversary. They requested that I make them a mini “top cake”, wrap it, and freeze it ahead of time and they pick it up the day after their event. I of course obliged, I offer this as a free service since I’ve heard horror stories about couples who never even get a bite of their cake. They went on to tell me that their actual wedding cake was made my a friend and they hadn’t asked any questions about the cake. The removed the top tier, wrapped it up and put it in their tiny college dorm ice box. They literally had no freezer space for a whole year and had to resort to canned food or going to the store every day. Their anniversary rolled around, thawed the cake, and cut into….. the frosted top of a oatmeal cannister…. In honor of the oatmeal box incident, he runs out every anniversary and gets her a Little Debbie Oatmeal Cream Pie- CUTE!! Turns out the friend ran out of cake and got crafty with some cardbord. Can’t wait to make their little cake and hopefully make them feel a little better. But they just laughed it off, had to share with everyone!
