I feel your pain. In Canada we have a couple Internet providers, and I was with Shaw for a while and absolutely detested them. Have a problem? Wait 3 hours on hold for an incredibly rude customer service rep to tell you that YOU must be doing something wrong… Selling upgraded services they were not actually equipped to provide yet… Not “authorizing” my modem for the speed I’m paying for… Etc. I can go on. The tech didn’t even show up for an appointment once after I’d waited at home for hours! Needless to say, we switched providers.

We live right outside of Louisville and Insight is our ONLY option for an internet provider. Their service sucks — our internet intermittenly goes down for 5-10 minutes, several times every day. Resetting the modem doesn’t help.

Insight is awful.

That is the same problem I am having, they say they want to rewire our house, but the kicker is that we have to pay for it.  Umm, when I called when we moved it I told them there was a problem and we wanted the house rewired.  They didn’t do it.  We have been talking to higher and highter people, finally, this week what I said in the beginning was right and they should have rewired when we moved it.

I hope they fix it for you, it has be a frustration on us for several years.  Hopefully this will fix it.

@allyfally:  Oh yes. And restarting the modem is one of the only options.

We also had an issue with one of our computers getting a virus two years ago, and sending out thousands of spam messages (it was running in the background, so we had NO idea). They shut off our internet for an entire month as “punishment” for using too much bandwidth. Umm… thanks? Had you TOLD us we were suddenly using a ton, maybe we would’ve repaired the situation?
