Calm down hunny one cheat day shouldn’t ruin the last two weeks! Could it be that you weighed yourself at the end of the day, when the food was still in your tummy? Also, it could be water weight, which if you drink a ton of water you can shed! It takes your body 2 weeks or more to even register what’s going on and that’s when you really start shedding the pounds, so whatever you do, don’t give up now!!!

Sidenote: Kudos to you for working out so well the past two weeks and cutting calories, etc.! If only I could get that same motivation…

It is most likely water weight. If you ate a lot of sodium yesterday, trying increasing your water intake today to flush all that stuff out.

Are you usig anything to track your calories to make sure youre eating enough? Working out every single day is too much, your body needs to rest atleast for a day. Ive been using myfitnesspal.com which has been a great tool.

Yes, what they said.  Probably just water weight.  Also eat lots of fiber.  Heavy foods take longer to pass through your system.  You should be fine in like 2-4 days.

@Legallyblondiebride: But you need to eat a certain amount of calories to loose weight. I know it seems weird…eat more to lose weight. But its true. Otherwise your body will think its starving.

MFP set my calories to 1350, which I always eat. One the days I work out I usually get 400-600 extra calories, and I usually eat about 1/2 of them back. And Ive been loosing an average of 1-2lbs per week 🙂

Yeah you definitely need to net more than a couple hundred calories, otherwise your body goes into starvation mode and you will hold on to every calorie you take in!

Kudos for working out so hard!

the movie theatre popcorn is likely the culprit, that stuff is loaded with salt.. it would be impossible for you to gain 4 lbs in a day.  just drink a ton of water and weigh yourself in a few days.  I think the highest I’ve ever “gained” in a day was about 8 lbs and that was gone within 3 or 4 days when I went back to eating healthy and drinking lots of water.

I weigh myself every day and I’m always at my heaviest on Mondays. I eat the most sodium on the weekends because I eat out more often and drink more beer. So it’s usually water weight on Monday that goes away after a couple days back on my normal eating schedule.

My suggestion is to cut back on the sodium big time today and tomorrow and see what happens. Also, like a PP said I think you also aren’t eating enough calories. That can be counterproductive when you’re dieting because your body will start to store more fat if you aren’t eating enough.

Definitely don’t get discouraged, you are totally on the right track by tracking calories and working out. The weight will come off, just give it time!

Don’t sweat it, it sounds like water weight! I know because I have the same problem, usually around the time I PMS. I gain up to 7 lbs in a few days, all of which goes away afterwards. 🙁 It makes you feel awful though! Water weight can feel soooo heavy.

There are 3500 calories in a pound.

If you ate 14,000 calories yesterday ON TOP of your daily allowance of calories I would be SERIOUSLY impressed LOL!

It is much more likely that it is water weight.
