Hello my beautiful bees. I just wanted to talk with you guys (those who also deal with this problem) about gaining weight in your tummy area. When I gain weight that is usually where it goes first thing. With my husband and I TTC I have my blood sugars on lock down (type 1 diabetic) and it does cause some weight gain. My sugar has been good for a long time but recently it is fantastic (and it’s staying that way.) Two weeks ago I weighed 104-106. I weighed myself today and I am at 117. I am short also (5’2 ish maybe 5’3) can’t remember. My problem isn’t gaining weight. I like myself around 120-125. I also know with pregnany my stomach will obviously be growing. But I don’t want anyone asking how for along I am before I am even pregnant.
My question is what do you ladies do? What are the best ways to dress yourself to hide the tummy pouch? Do you wear something to suck it in? What are good ways to tone that area up? Any tips or tricks would be great!

@Sweet.Sugar.Rose: My biggest tip is make sure your jeans fit. Though I know pyschologically we all want to squeeze ourselves in a smaller size, muffin tops help no one. Ensuring your pants fit means there’s less of a bulge around the tummy. Also I usually pair my pants with a close fitting or tailored jacket which is great with the winter weather. I know people love to wear oversized things to hid behind but I think a tailored jacket gives you a cleaner figure overall, and it does help hide a bit of bulk.

@Olive12: Thank you. I agree completely! I don’t want to wear anything over sized (or to small for that matter) to hide it. I want something that looks nice while it hides my problem area. 🙂
I have fitted coats and I love them. My problem is shirts (sweaters or not) showing a pregnant looking stomach these days. 🙁 (Oh how I wished I already were pregnant!) lol
Here is a cropped picture sort of showing what I mean. This was taken on Saturday. (Sorry it’s a bad photo and it is a black sweater so it is very hard to tell.) If I were standing you could have seen it better.
And here I am on Christmas (before the stomach weight gain.) To maybe better show the difference.

And also this would be great for when I do become pregnant. As we plan to not tell anyone other than our parents until week 16.

toning the area is a mix of sit ups and other types of exercizes like that and cardio. i do pilates on the reformer and the step mill (the machine at the gym that’s like walking up an escalator. it has moving steps). they’re both working really well to cut down on my belly fat. an added bonus is that they’re both toning my butt too!
