I think it looks fine without. It follows your shape well the way it falls.

OOOOH I love this dress!  This was one of my early favorites.  I would personally wear a slip so that the bottom would flare out a little more.

why dont they have a petticoat in the boutique so you can try it and see how it looks?

I think i would use a petticoat with youe dress, but then again i want a ballgown so.. maybe that’s just my personal taste

Standing still you can’t tell but you should try walking around in the dress and if it slips between your legs you need the petticoat.

@Garnety:  Oh yes agree.  When I tried this dress on it did sliped between my legs a little when I walked.  So my original vote for the petticoat stands 🙂

My friend JUST got married and wore this dress (beautiful btw!). She wore a petticoat and she said it realy helped make sure the dress didn’t get caught between her legs when she walked.

this is what it looks like with a full a-line slip underneath:

This is my dress too!  I actually work at DB so I was able to try it with a variety of slips underneath and I’m going to wear mine with the ballgown slip.  As you know, the skirt of this dress is very heavy and the ballgown slip holds it out nicely away from my legs without making it too full.  (I do not have the slip on in this picture)

I like it with the A line slip.
