I had mine out on April 2 and I felt normal again about a week afterward…my incisions did take a little longer to completely heal but my swelling and soreness went away pretty fast.

when i had mine out, the swelling was gone in a week. i was still uncomfortable for a while though, cause incisions on me take forever to heal fully.

i hope you heal up and feel better soon! relax, take it easy, enjoy “resting up” (:

I still have my gallbladder but have had a number of laparascopies (I have endometriosis and ovarian cysts). You are so right about looking pregnant!! For a few days post surgery, I can only wear sweat pants or yoga pants b/c my abdomen is so swollen. By two weeks, everything is back to normal – no swelling, no pain, and I can lift whatever I want and exercise. The first week I tried to move around as much as I could without hurting myself or pushing myself too far. I heard that walking around helps a lot, so I try to do walks around the neighborhood (or after my last one… walkign around the mall! haha). By the second week I could wear whatever I wanted and the swelling was gone, but I was still a little tender.

I had a laparoscopy to remove a cyst and a fibroid. I was swollen as hell for a few days and it subsided by about two weeks out.

I was told a lot of the swelling is due to the gas they put into your abdominal cavity to make things more visible. As uncomfortable as it may be to move around right now, the best way to get the gas to dissipate is to move around even if its just walkinart round your house.  It also helped to decrease the pain. The pain from the gas hurt me more than my incisions did.

Hope you feel better soon!  You will be feeling just like new by the time your wedding comes!

@irishphoenix:  My friend had the same surgery two weeks before her wedding last year. She was sooo scared she as going to miss her wedding and not be able to fit in her figure hugging dress and even though she was still a little bit in pain she was able to enjoy her wedding day. I think it took her about a month to be completely back to normal as the swelling went away but the scars were still healing
