Gap between halos

If you had this ring custom designed then there absolutely is a way for there to be no gaps!! But if this was a pre made setting then the only way would be to have them fill the gap with more metal. However you said you had this ring made so there’s no reason why there should be a gap if you requested there not to be. It sounds like the jeweler you used either couldn’t figure out how make it with no airline, or messed up and didn’t want to remake it. When you have a ring custom made your paying the jeweler to make the perfect ring for you, and a good jeweler would make sure it’s exactly the way you want. I personally would ask them to completely remake the ring since it’s not 100% what you asked for. And if they don’t want to do this then I’d demand a refund and go elsewhere! Did the gap show up on the CAD image before the ring was made?

scip1222 :  Not sure why they had trouble making it without a gap.  I just found this online and it doesn’t have a gap at all.  I definitely think it’s possible to have it made without one!  I personally like the gap because it separates the diamonds but that’s just me

I got a custom made double halo and there is no airline. I would ask for a redo if I were you, since you specified no gap on numerous occasions.

scip1222 :  Thank you, yes it’s extremely thin!! For reference, the diamonds in the halos are 1 mm, so I’d imagine this is 1/10 of 1 mm in width, if not thinner.

No problem! Your definitely not crazy! I agree that adding a thin boarder around the halos would look nice and it would be much faster and easier than having an entirely new ring made. But if having a boarder added isn’t entirely what you want or invisioned then do not settle, as you will likely regret it later on! There is most definitely a way to make the halos flush if you do decide to have it remade. And if they still don’t get it right the second time, there are plenty of great jewelers out there that will! Your ring is beautiful by the way, I forgot to tell you in my first comment. Goodluck and I hope you get this sorted out!

Not custom…a stock setting but it has no airline. This makes me think if a factory stock setting can have no airline most certainly a custom piece could be made this way.

bellabee16 :  Thanks… that means alot coming from you, we’re jewelry kindred spirits for sure. I received this ring for my 5yr anniversary but I have a love hate relationship with it. No matter what I never could find a band that satisfied my ideal match for it. I’m still on the hunt…any ideas? I tried plain, larger pave’,I just can’t get it right! It’s my husbands absolute favorite one that I have in my collection.
