We have a door leading from the garage into one of the bedrooms in the house. We have a roommate occupying that room, and she likes to leave it unlocked so she can enter her room whenever she wants without having to go through the house and disturb our dogs. So in the poll, I think I voted unlocked. But if we didn’t have anyone occupying that room, we would most definitely keep it locked. We live in a pretty decent area too, but still, I worry about things like unlocked doors.
ETA: Our garage would not be easy at all to break into. The only way to get in is to have an opener (there is only one and it is in our house) or to know the electronic passcode.

No one that I know actually locks that door. My ILs have an open house policy, and so we can just walk right in if we want.
Like what pinkshoes said, if someone REALLY wanted to get into your house, they would. I’d rather not have to pay for a broken window on top of everything else :p

Yes, I lock it. I live in a nice neighborhood, but there’s no way I’d leave it open. And I grew up in the country.LOL

Quiet neighborhood, abutting a state park of 500+acres. The door from the garage to the house is ALWAYS locked & because the bedroom is 2 floors up, we have a board across it on the inside. (my fiance is from the city originally so he trusts no one!) You can never trust that something won’t happen but you can prevent it, somewhat.

Usually locked during the day when I’m home. Always locked when we leave the house. Always locked at night when we go to bed.
But we live in a nice neighborhood and also have 4 locks + window alarms on our front door, so we’re kinda paranoid like that 🙂
