A florist that I didn’t go with had said to think of each flower as I think it was $2.00. I’m getting married July 23rd. I don’t know how many are on a stem though. I’m in Toledo, Ohio area. I know they are cheaper than Peonies that are out of season, but they are still kind of expensive. I just went on Fiftyflowers.com to look at their garden roses. They say that one flower is PER stem. $10.00 sounds too expensive per flower.  The first listing they have is $189.99 for 72 stems. That would be around $2.70 a stem.  The only thing I could think of is if they are harder to get in September, but I don’t think roses are. I would definitely get another quote if I were you.

That stinks about the house florist. They could really charge anything!Inquire about using someone else and see what they say! If you really love the Garden Roses, maybe you can do a smaller bouquet or you could do a bouquet that’s got a few Garden Roses, but some greenery for filler and some other flowers to off set the cost. There are lots of pretty alternatives for non-floral centerpieces, also. So you could spend more for the bouquets and be more conservative with the centerpieces. I’m doing black lanterns on wood slices with some moss around it and some flower heads scattered around for half of my centerpieces.  Lanterns are very pretty. I’ve also seen some nice centerpieces with branches in tall vases and flowers tucked in the branches. I googled and searched for non-floral centerpieces.

A good money saver tip for the head table is to have the florist put vases and then when you come in all girls put their bouquets in the vases. You can put the vases together, so it looks like a big floral centerpiece or at varying heights. I might be doing this. One less floral centerpiece to pay for. I’m going to have my florist put some branches on the table to decorate it a little.
