Hi everyone! I’m wondering if any Ohio bees have any good outdoor locations for a wedding. I absolutely love the Cleveland Botanical Gardens…but deffinitely not the price! We’re trying to find a nice venue that has a good outdoor location, but also a nice indoor one as a back up in case the weather is bad. A big thing for me is I want somwhere with alot of flowers, I’ve had a hard time finding that it’s mostly grass and fields or woods :/
Any ideas?

@Birdiebaby4: I don’t know if you’re willing to go a little outside Cleveland, but I got married in Akron at Stan Hywet. The manor house is like a castle, with lots of stone and overlooks, and the gardens are pretty expansive. The most famous spots for photos are the English garden with an inky reception pool and a fountain, surrounded by stone walls, a long aisle way of arched birch trees, the Japanese garden with a waterfall and lots of sculpted walkways and hedges, and the Great garden in the center of it all. They have an amazing staff that handles everything for you, and they also have a solid rain plan in place so you don’t have to think about a back-up.
I got married in the fall when the trees were in full color, so there weren’t blooming flowers, but it’s beautiful in the spring and summer when the whole place is covered in flowers. Some of my photos:

And I stalked a lot of photos online before the wedding, so here’s a few that have some summer pics:

@anemonie: I’ve heard stan hywet weddings are soo gorgeous, but it was way outside of our budget…
@Birdiebaby4: i looked at Mooreland Mansion on the east side of cleveland, and it had really beautiful grounds. it’s on the LCC campus, but is way back and really quiet. you rent out the whole mansion, and the rose garden is where they usually set up for weddings. it was really beautiful. we were looking for a more rustic venue, so we ultimately chose a different venue.

Fellows Riverside Gardens in Youngstown is simply gorgeous. It’s part of the Mill Creek Metroparks and has a few different locations for a ceremony. But the best one (imo) is the kidston pavillion located in their rose garden. It’s surrounded by tall boxwoods, overlooks Lake Glacier and is filled with rows of roses. They have a few photos on their website but it’s much prettier in person.

The Rockefeller Greenhouse is very nice, if you are having a smaller wedding. Lots of flowers and plants. Very pretty.

Thank you everyone! Very good suggestions! We looked into Stan Hewitt but I heard they’re a little pricey 🙁 It seems like so many places get you with the catering services they require
