Hey guys, I just wanted to share my milk glass and bric-a-brac collection which I will be using for my May 2013 wedding! I amassed all of this in just two short days of browsing antique stores and thrift stores. I’m quite proud. 🙂 The best part is that we got it all in California and managed to get it all back to Georgia in one piece. I still have a ways to go, but it’s been a lot of fun! I’ve definitely fallen in love with those coveted blue milk glass pieces.
I even did a quick mock-up with some roses and jasmine from my dad’s garden. I will be using white, cream, and light pink roses and other flowers for the real centerpieces, but it does give an idea of the finished product.

How much does milk glass cost? I would love to do something like that but I am worried that it will be out of my budget. :/

@jbeath1: You can get some idea of prices by searching on Craigslist

and Ebay

Keep in mind though that you can often find pieces at garage sales, flea markets and thrift shops for next to nothing. There also lots of reproductions that only someone with some knowledge of the subject would be able to differentiate from the real thing. Florists have used copies of this vase for years.

I’ve found a LOT of the smaller vases and less ornate pieces at garage sales and thrift stores for $.99 or sometimes even $.50. I have spent more on larger pieces, especially the blue milk glass which is harder to find. I have a HUGE collection now, proabably at least 50-60 pieces, and I maybe spent $200 total, mostly because I splurged on some nicer pieces I will keep after the wedding. It’s fun to hunt down too, which is always a bonus. 🙂
