I’ve been looking for the past couple of weeks for just the right dress and just don’t get that feeling that other brides get…This will be my second marriage and the first time my mom picked out the dress and although it was beautiful it was never what I really wanted but I don’t regret it looking back at pics…I have it down to two dresses…the Gastby and the Milana both Maggie dresses…I know I want a vintage feel..it is going to be in St Augustine and possibly in a castle…maybe the beach, we haven’t decided yet. I need to pick this month because these dresses are on sale at the bridal salon…well the sample dresses and I just don’t know…I’m very tall…and pretty slender and I want that vintage, old world feeling and I know that I want whatever dress I choose to be in gold or champagne…anyone know of any other dresses that are really vintage..with maybe the soft lace like the gatsby or the beautiful detail in the milana…I’m so confused…I really am on a budget…I have little tots but I really want to choose the right dress….HELP!!!

I vote Milana, I’m not really a fan of the Gatsby. There’s just something kind of off about it, to me. The Milana is really pretty though. Do you have any pics of you in the dresses?
Another “old world” style dress. La Sposa’s Frutal. I tried it on when I was looking. It’s GORGEOUS.

Thanks so much girls….OMG..that dress is beautiful…I don’t have any pics of me in the dresses..I’m going to take my best friend when we go back and have her take pics of me in the dresses…if we can I don’t think they like for people to do that in that shop but I’m going to try…to be honest the Milana was my first choice but maybe I should go back and look for other dresses. The pic you sent was beautiful!!! I just have to see the different dresses they carry…I gotta get a dress while they are on sale or preowed…:) Thanks for the comments!!! I really appreciate them!!!!!! 🙂

If you’re not sure, then it’s because you haven’t found your dress.
I was about 24 hours away from putting down a deposit on Maggie Sottero’s Belinda (after trying on over 50 dresses, making mood-boards, trying on the dress 3 times over 2 months) but, beautiful as it is, part of me felt that it just wasn’t right, that I was “settling” for the best dress I could find in my budget that fit my ideas for my dress.
As a final check, I went to another store to try on a new dress, and that was when I found my dress – and it wasn’t even the dress I’d gone to the shop to try on in the first place! After finding my dress, I realised that it was the beading on the lace of Belinda that didn’t work for me, and I love the unbeaded lace in my dress (Blue by Enzoani Cheyenne), and I’m completely happy with my dress.
If I were you (and to avoid the possibility of evil dress-regret) I’d go and try on some other dresses. I can recommend Blue by Enzoani – and they’re the same kind of price range as Maggie – but don’t feel limited. You don’t need to commit to a dress until Christmas/New Year, so don’t rush yourself.

Have you tried either of the dresses on? I would love to see pics of them on you…
I have tried both on, and they are both beautiful. I actually bought the Milana, but I also really liked the Gatsby.
I ended up going with the Milana beacause I’m not a tall girl (5’3″) and I felt that the dropped waist on the Gatsby made me look shorter…

I have tried them both on…I love them both…I’m really tall, 5’11 so they both fit me really good. They both have that old world, vintage feel but I keep reading all the brides that say I just knew when I tried on my dress that it was the one…I don’t think I would be disappointed with either…when I go back, I’m going to take my camera and take some pics so I can post them so I can get everyone’s opinions…maybe some of the girls are right and I jsut haven’t found “it” yet but I think I will take some pics and see what you guys think…:)

I think both dresses are beautiful, but definitely get pics! I’m wearing the gatsby and she’s so gorgeous, but the milana is as well – and everyone looks completely different in dresses. I’d love to see them on!

Wow the Gatsby just takes my breath away! Would you like it better with a little organza sleeve instead of the straps? That might balance your height if you’re concerned – or an organza wrap or something like that. Both dresses are gorgeous, but I think the Gatsby would be great for either of the locations you are considering; the only difference might be the kind of veil or hairpiece you choose.
Or….keep looking. I’m getting married around the same time you are, and I can so relate to your anxiety about price point/designers and trunk shows. Good luck!

I’m going Saturday with my mom to look again and hopefully get some pics…I think my problem is I love the dresses for different reasons…the gatsbyreally makes me look curvy..my sister said it had a “wow” factor…she said she loved the other and although it looked pretty on me she said it didn’t give me the hourglass shape like the gatsby…I love the organza on the milana and the detail is just amazing…I wish I could mix the dresses…that would be my idea of the perfect dress…ha! But when I get pics I’ll see what you guys think!!! Thanks so much for the replys!!!

well don’t let it get to you. But this is an important decision so don’t take it lightly or just settle. When you find the one, no matter what you think, you WILL know whether its the one or not. Quit stressing because that will not help the situation. Take a deep breathe, figure out what exactly you like and don’t like….Go and try on more dresses.
I tried a few on, and they were always just “okay” or “pretty”…I tried on the GATSBY and i was like WOW…But because I hadn’t been shopping a lot…I went around trying on more, and every single one I compared to the GATSBY and honestly, to me, nothing compared! So I knew she was the one…I went back to the store, tried her on again, and instantly started with the tears!
You will know, I promise! Give it time. ThaT feeling will come.

I didn’t get to try on dresses today but I did search the internet…Although I love both dresses, they are both truly amazing I think you are right and I should keep looking so I will be sure…I looked on the internet today and found two very beautiful dresses by Raylia…they are both very vintage looking but I’m not at all sure what they would look like on me…the style numbers on the dresses W4512HC is the first one and the other is W7406HC…has anyone seen these dresses or worn them??? I would love to know more about them!!!! Thanks girls for all your help…I’ll keep ya posted. ha! Feels good to get all this off my chest and get some good advice at the same time!!!!

well its always good to get things off your chest.
i looked at both of those dresses, and they are pretty dresses. I just don’t care for the top of the dresses, but if i had to pick one it would definitley be the second on (W7406HC)…they both are very elegant. I just don’t get the vintage vibe from those. Humm…
But your decision, is the ultimate one. GOoD LUCK! keep us posted!
