@Laurenplusalex:  well this isn’t really for the wedding, but for the bachelorette party I want test tube shots and cocktails made in beakers and chemistry flasks!

@Laurenplusalex:  we have planned to hide FI’s nerdy passions in the decor and attire. Such as having the florist hide silver lego men in the boutineers (seriously HIDING- I dont want them to stand out). Also the men’s bathroom tolietry basket will have some nerdy flair (super hero stuff and what not). Depends on what type of nerd you are, as to what you plan on including. My Fiance also loves SCI-FI alien stuff…. I can not, incorperate that in a classy way!

@Laurenplusalex:  That is super cute!

We’re book nerds and you know there are a million ideas for using vintage books in wedding decor, so that’s easy. I also plan to do that “spiderman peeking out from under the cake” thing but with Totoro for my Totoro-crazed SO. We’ve discussed giving out hand towels as favors (Hitchhiker’s Guide figured prominently in the first few months of our relationship) but we’re on the fence about that still. If he was still at the  bench I’d definitely incorporate test tubes either as favors or shot glasses.

My husband is in IT so I designed a robot cake topper for us (AI design I had laser cut). He had robot cufflinks, and our invites had a bit of a modern techie edge in the fonts and embellishments!

@Little_Hedgy:  I love that idea!

My Fiance and I met at a Science Fiction convention (how much more nerdy can you get) and our honeymoon in going to London for a science fiction convention (so yes we can get nerdier).  Our officent is a good friend of ours who also Star Wars renactments and LARPs.  All that being said I don’t want an overtly geeky wedding.  I’m catching lots of jokes from my mom and dad about getting married by Obi Wan Kenobi.  Nerd doesn’t not mean no class!  I love the test tube idea

My SIL used beakers and other lab glassware as candle holders! It was a nice subtle nod to her DH’s science career. I thought about doing that too (i’m a scientist) but thought that it would be too copy-cat on her stuff!

FH and I are both super nerdy.  I promised him a Star Wars reception.  And I’m surprising him with SW action figures as the bridal cake topper.  I am also surprising him with some SW bridal pictures.  I’m sure we will have more nerdy details, we just haven’t gotten that far in our planning!
