I wish I had pictures! I will have them this weekend.

I have lots of nerdy decor in pretty frames (Barbara Pala’s Han + Leia print, chair signs for our chairs that say “companion” with a key looped around the n and “sweetie” with the TARDIS), a Princess Bride quote on the invitations, Han & Leia figurines, etc. We’re both huge nerds, though.

Sorry to threadjack OP, but….

@Little_Hedgy:  Omggggg, as if we wern’t already best buds over cats, now i find out you love fantasy books including the Shanara series?!

Fi and I are geeks through and through, like.. he wanted to take us on our hunnymoon to PAX. Yep. I love the PA boys as much as the next gal, but i’d rather sit on a hot beach thank you very much.  I said I was open to an eclectic mix of our geekiness, but in the end he wanted to keep it fairly simple so he chose his one true love; pirates.

So we have a treasure chest card box, treasure chest fabor boxed with gold chocolate coins. Our seating chart are rolled up scrolls, and our flower girl is tossing coins instead of petals.  It’s a lovely mix. ^^

We had a pretty nerdy wedding.

(Those were his cuff links)

Our friend was our officiant and read his speech from a page taped inside of “The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy,” and we had some star wars, doctor who and Green Lantern references in there. Each table was classified by one of our favorite TV shows, and had a corresponding favor. ๐Ÿ™‚

My aim is to get these bad boys:

The guy who makes them will custom-model them to look like FH and I. They don’t match with anything else in our wedding, but I’ve wanted some since before we got engaged, and we were sat at a stall next to him at a huge convention. His modelling quality is incredible, and they’ll be well worth every penny.

@Laurenplusalex:  Very much so, I think a lot of the subtle details guests who didn’t know what they were didnt even notice. The most obivous was their table names, like “The Shire” and “Middle Earth” but it suited them so much that everyone loved it.

@Laurenplusalex:  Our cake topper is the bride & groom running into the Tardis, and for the men’s bathroom toiletries box I’m using my Fallout 3 metal lunchbox and making a vault boy-theme sign instructing them how to use it. And I want to include the Douglas Adams quote “I may not have gone where I intended to go, but I think I have ended up where I need to be.” And some music will be from media we love, like some of the Fallout 3 & New Vegas songs, theme from Serenity, stuff like that.

@Laurenplusalex:  My husband (eeek, our wedding was last weekend!) is an engineering grad student, so to incorporate a little bit of geekiness we used beakers instead of vases.  It was really subtle ๐Ÿ™‚

These are some photos my aunt took:

You can kind of see the beaker in this one –

We used test tubes filled with a variety of hot drinks (coffee, tea, hot cocoa) for favors.  We used a ribbon to tie a little label that had our names & date on one side and the other side said “love is brewing”

Much less subtle, our cake!  DH wanted to do something special for the wedding.  My dress was a suprise for him, so he decided he wanted to suprise me with the cake.  He’s big into video games, this was the final product.  I must admit, I was a little nervous with what he’d come up with but I absolutely loved it!

Ours wasn’t nerdy so much as a bit odd… think “church meets cats meets patriotic summer fete meets traditional British beer festival”.

Oh, plus lawn games… including croquet and giant chess.
