As part of our photography package, we’re having a “snapshot session” included in our reception coverage (like a photobooth but instead a backdrop & one of our photogs takes the pics).
As we’re having quite a few sci-fi/geeky touches to our wedding, I’m wanting to have some appropriately geeky props for the photos, rather than the usual moustaches, feather boas etc.
Any prop ideas?

@mcgoo: Depends on what sort of geeky
Giant cardboard cutout props from fav computer games.

Fez & bow tie,
super mario style moustaches & hats
Wizard hats, swords etc you could get around hallowe’en
plastic lightsabres and brown bathrobes with hoods

Think Geek has an awesome inflatable D20. Superhero masks and capes. Comic books. Game controllers and headsets.

love the ideas everyone! You’ve pretty much hit our main ideas: Doctor Who, Star Wars, HP, superheroes etc. I like the Firefly suggestions, the other half loved Firefly… the 8 bit stuff & video game references are cool too. And yeah the robot suggestion – maybe generic robot, not the cyberman I was trying to think how to work in…
Thanks for the ideas!!

Headband with elf ears
Wonder Woman’s tiara
Carboard hearts made o resemble the Zelda life hearts (Multiple at full, empty, and half, so people can set up different concepts with them)
IF you have any nerdy plush laying around (Like a Domo hun or the much coveted Sildier Heartless) those would do well too.

You’re in luck- Halloween is just around the corner! (Assuming your wedding date really isn’t till next year, cause some bees post a fake date). Go shopping for cheap props (do you have a Party City in your areas? I find they have the largest Halloween selection): hats, wands, swords, capes, and all kinds of things can be found around this time. Better yet, wait till right after Halloween (maybe even right before) and snag the clearance deals. Sure most of it will probably be picked over, but since you’re not looking for specifics, this is a good way to pick up a bunch of props for very cheap!

Love the elf ears & hearts, the Cyclops glasses are awesome!! Thanks for the Halloween sales suggestion – I’m in Australia, so it’s not AS big a deal here, but there are definitely props & costumes etc for sale, so I’ll keep an eye out
