I was a chronic nail biter for as long as I can remember, to the point where people wondered if I had nails – they were bad. But, who knew that when I got acrylics put on for my wedding last October, that letting them grow out would make me stop biting them. If only I had done that years ago!
A month ago I went in and got a gel French manicure, which was just a couple days before we went on our honeymoon. Surprisingly, only a couple nails have chipped the polish off, and that was in the last week. I was impressed. I have another appointment today to get the polish off and am going to do a solid color
My first world problem… why is it such a hard decision to pick a color?!? I am leaning towards a pretty mint, but have been really loving some light pale blues or a pale pink. So, what are your favorite colors to get?

I usually get some sort of light pink or nude color. If I want some color I get coral or aqua. In the summer I may try brighter colors. I really don’t lIke dark nails so it’s rare if I get that. It isn’t that hard! If you get one color then try something different 2 weeks later.

I take forever to pick a color! I seriously stand there for like 10 minutes. There’s nothing worse than picking a beautiful looking polish in the bottle only to have it look totally sheer on the nails.
I’m probably going this weekend and I’m planning on doing a pastel pink or blue. I’m ready for spring!

I do shellac in the color Cake Pop! It’s a perfect lavender/pink color. It’s the exact color I wanted for my wedding day but found it about a year later. Oh well! I got it now!

I like to get the darker colors (almost black) in the fall/winter and I go for super bright fun colors (pinks, corals, blues, greens) in the spring/summer. I do my own with the Sally Hansen gel kit and I’m kind of obsessive about it.

I usually go with the first color I see that doesn’t horribly offend me (ex: lime green). Or I ask Fiance. I go every two weeks so even if I’m not 100% on the color, I know I get a change soon.
Im kind of stressing over what to do for my wedding though. I got an American-style French yesterday and thought I liked it…but now I’m not so sure. ::

I typically stick with darker colors like dark green, red (well, any shade of red really), or grey. If I don’t do a dark color I’ll probably do a hot pink or bright red.

do the Sally Hansen ones work well? I’m washing my hands constantly and my regular polish never stays on. It stinks.. I was wondering how well the Sally Hansen no light needed worked.

I actually dont use the gel w/no light kit. I heard the one is just like regular polish and it peels off.
I use the one that comes with the LED light and that one works pretty well. It definitely doesnt stay on for the 2 weeks it says it will, but it usually lasts about a week.

Oo fun problem to have! Haha. I am going this weekend and I have to decide ahead of time or I will get flustered at the salon trying to choose cause I feel like people are waiting for me!! Haha. I am planning on hot pink for my toes and coral for my nails this go-round. Usually I just get black on my nails but on my toes – anything goes!!

Great info and insight on what everyone likes to get.
I know it seems trivial, but when you’ve spent most of your life with super short nails and nail polish not even being an option to put on them… it excites me that I can finally do things like this. So, in a way… I’m a newbie to this world!

I usually stick to really dark purples/blues or black, but I’ve been branching out a bit recently (probably because I’m sick of winter and need some color in my life). Currently they are bright red. Love gel polish!
