5 days? For me, gels start to chip by day 5. I usually get shellac which goes chip free for almost 2 weeks.

Gel with a five day gap might chip. You might want to look into shellac if it is a temporary thing only for your wedding.

If you normally wear acrylics or are looking for something a bit more permanent I would recommend them instead. They last for weeks. I get mine done every four weeks.

I do my own nails using acrylic. Lots of salons carry acrylic in various colors, and it will not chip in five days, since the color is what the nail attached is made up of.

I get Gel nails and they usually last 2 weeks! They hardly ever chip. Most of the time they still look great after the 2 weeks and I only have to get them re-done because of the nail growth.

My gels last two weeks too. I also don’t like the damage the acrylics do to your natural nail. If you are worried about chipping, can you move your appointment closer to the wedding day?

I got the gel done to my nails…and they actually chipped two days later! I went into another salon for my graduation and they said sometimes if it is too thick it can do that! I wanted it done for my wedding but I have just decided that I am not taking the risk. I found on pinterest a way to do it at home with supplies from sally handsen’s beauty supply store and the last one I did lasted two weeks! and I love how it looks 🙂

i get gel french and and can pull it off for 3-4 weeks because you can’t tell when the nail starts to grow.

the tips will chip a little after 2 weeks but usally the white is barely noticeable.

i vote gellish, it looks nice, lasts a couple weeks and is easy to take off.  They don’t have to buff your nails or file it off so its much healthier.
