Moonstone….. it is running. Congrats!
My fiance and I went back and fourth when choosing my centerstone. We new the setting we wanted but couldn’t decide between an Emerald or Sapphire. The sapphire is his birthstone and originally we were leaning in that direction. However it was when my now Hubby explained to me why he wanted an emerald. I was sold.
He is active duty military, and deployed a lot in the beginning of our relationship. He spent a lot of time in Colombia, South America. He said he really wanted to get me an emerald because the ones he saw there were amazing compared to ones in the American Market. Also he loved the idea of me having a little piece of the place he spent the most time away from me at. Not to mention I am a redhead with green eyes and he loves me in Emerald green. So that is why we went with an emerald.
It is a 1.20 natural emerald. Oval Cut. Nearly flawless and I LOVE IT! We have paired it with a yellow gold eternity diamond ring and a white gold eternity band. I also have a yellow gold figure band. I love mixing the metals and how it looks with the yellow gold especially. Here are some pics.

I love moonstone! I went with a blue/green sapphire because I felt like it gave the ring more contrast. I like diamonds, but I feel like a lot of diamond rings look the same so I wanted something different. 🙂

This ring is yg with a blue zircon center. I chose it because zircon is my birthstone and based on alot that I have read carries spiritual significance. I just wasn’t into dionds like that and wanted a ring of good significance. I have a promise ring in blue zircon as well. I really do love the the stone.

I’ve always wanted a gemstone, like since I was a little girl. I just thought a sapphire or emerald meant so much more because they were so rare for me to see IRL and always had them in royal collections etc. I always thought I would have a solitaire and I did explore some art deco ideas but in the end, I went with my sapphire solitaire… with a twist… my sapphire is a moody peacock. My sapphire puts off all kinds of blues and greens in the light. I LOVE it.
