no regrets here! Pink sapphire and diamond wedding band

I have never regreted having gemstones in both my engagement ring and wedding band.  When my husband was designing my original engagement ring the jeweler did his best to talk him out of the planned rubies saying I wouldn’t like it as I’d always have to wear red clothes to match with my ring. lol  Silly jeweler!  I am glad my husband was persistent.  In my original ring the rubies were much smaller and when it was ruined, while out for repair, I voiced to my husband how much I would like for the rubies to play a larger role in my replacement ring.  So now instead of ruby accents on the shank there’s almost two carats of rubies in the band.  Which I love! I kept the same wedding ring as it is similar but not exactly the same as my new engagement ring.  My advice is go with what makes you happy!

I started with a diamond ring when I got married, and upgraded 3 times to larger diamonds, and after all of those, I recently ditched the diamond and got two gemstone rings as my wedding rings. The idea behind two is to give each of my daughters one after I’m gone. I never imagined 17 years ago when I got married that I would want a colored gem as my center stone! But I do love the pop of color, and I still get a lot of sparkle from all the side stones on the bands!

My red ring is a Tacori with a garnet center, and the blue ring is a tanzanite.

I LOVE my antique ring. It is from the late 1890’s before diamonds were really even availabe in the USA. I know it’s not “blingy” (hate that word) enough for most ladies but I wanted something simple without a diamond. Citrine and seed pearl

This isn’t the best lighting but I have princess cut rubies in my e-ring 🙂 My band will be a channel cut with just the diamonds so this will be the only color. My fiance’s ring will be black titanium with an inverted ruby. We chose ruby because red is our favorite color plus it is our birthstone. I love having the color and people always notice because it’s unique!

I have a sapphire band as part of my wedding set. I love the pop of color it adds. Plus, it reminds me of my grandma and was my “something blue” on our wedding day.

I’ve got rubies in mine mainly because of the Bible verse about a good wife’s value is far above rubies. I also love the color. I can wear red with just about anything.

There’s a pic of my ring in this thread:

Post a pic of your original ring(s) and your upgrade!

Not my engagement ring, but one my husband had made from stones my dad gave my mom. I love it, and have no complaints.

My original wedding set that I got married with was a three stone sapphire and diamond Engagement Ring. Unfortunately, I lost that set and had to replace it.  And this year for my birthday my husband bought me a new wedding band with little sapphires accenting the filigree design. for some reason i’m having trouble uploading a picture of my original set, but  here is a pic of my current set and new band.

I have sapphires as accent stones on my engagement ring, and I love it! Originally, I wanted a sapphire rather than a diamond for my e-ring, but my fiancé insisted on getting me a diamond. So we found this ring which was such a great compromise! I can’t imagine having a different ring.
