@eecuadrado:  Happened to me last year!!

September 2012 I was told a boy. December 2012 I was told they made a mistake and it was a girl.

We had a lovely pink, purple, and white baby shower for me to deliver a SON February 2013.

@eecuadrado:  I was on the OR table numb from the neck down. All I could do was laugh and say “thank you Jesus for a healthy baby”

Yeah, it was a pain being in Walmart with a 3 day old baby with STAPLES to close my C-section scar, but it was fun being wheeled around the store by my husband in a wheelchair to get a nice carseat, stroller, and other stuff.

We kept the girl clothing in case we do have a baby girl in the future. We had kept the boy clothing after they told us it was a girl and good thing we did!!

@eecuadrado  LOL. they named her the boys name that they had picked out. Luckily it was pretty unisex. They laugh about it now. It’s a great story.

My lil brother was supposed to be a girl. Like another poster’s story, he was born on April fools day and my mom thought the Dr was trying to fool her when he announced it was a boy lol  oh and I was about 5 yrs old and remember crying saying no! Im supposed to have another baby sister!! Lol

I already have a son and I find out on the 17th what this LO is gonna be.  So I already have boy stuff, but after reading all these responses I almost want to buy a few girl things just in case!!! Lol

No it still happens today! Five years ago my friend was told she was having a boy. That’s what she wanted so she was SO excited.

Her little girl wore a lot of jerseys and dinosaur clothes….. Lol

@eecuadrado:  I have the perfect gender mistake story, it makes me laugh even now. 5 years ago my good friend found out she was pregnant, she had 4 u/s after 16 weeks and at each u/s they told her she was having a boy, one of these u/s was a private sexing scan too! She had bought all blue stuff, had a boy name picked out and painted his nursery blue with hand painted boats and pirates. Then she actaully had a girl. It was such a shock but the reason i am not finding out the gender, whats the point when they can be wrong so many times?

My co-worker’s BFF was told she was having a boy at her anatomy scan (this was 3 years ago).  The tech person was 100% conviced it was a boy. Her BFF already had 3 girls, so she started buying boy things like crazy.  She even got a lot of hand-me-downs from a lot of people.  Well, baby was a girl!  She couldnt return anything because she already had taken out the tags and washed all the clothes.  She only gave up what she got from friends and family.  She pretty much brought her little girl home in a boy outfit.  She was disspointed only because she was ready with boy stuff, but very happy to have a girl, since she already had so much of it.  I was told I am having a boy too, but I do have a 28 week follow up scan, so I will confirm with them again.  Although I am confident is a boy.  My LO kept showing off his parts at my anatomy scan that my tech lady kept laughing and said “okay we get it, you are a boy!” lol
