I have a friend who is one of a pair of twin girls.  Her parents were told one baby and it was a boy.  That was 20 years ago, so hopefully things are better…. but seriously number and sex wrong? yikes

@eecuadrado:  lol right?! The first time she had purchased a TON of girl stuff (she had always wanted a girl, already had a boy and was very excited) so the second time around she was like “they’re probably wrong, I’m not getting my hopes up again” and she was right!

I was supposed to be a boy! The doctors were so insistent on it. I have 6 male cousins, and my only sibling is my older brother, so it was a huge shock when I was born.

The best part was that my brother was only 2 years old during my Mom’s pregnancy with me, so my family would ask him all the time if he was excited for ‘Baby Nicky.’ When I was born, my parents realized that if they changed my name to anything else, my brother wouldn’t understand what happened to ‘Baby Nicky.’

Sooo I went from Nicholas (Nicky) to Nicola (Nikki).

I was apparently supposed to be a boy named Brian. They just threw an “a” on the end when they found out I wasn’t lol! This was 27 years ago though
