No pictures, but I’ve done a couple with a classic children’s book as the theme – Fox in Socks, Hungry Caterpillar, Goodnight Moon, Curduroy, Paddington….

I threw a GN shower for a coworker forever ago, and I Used the theme of “Oh, the Places You’ll Go!” It was a hit.  I can’t find any photos though, but if that interest you, you can easily do a Pinterest search and loads will come up.

Purple and green make for great colors – much better than yellow and green. But themes work really well, especially if it’s a theme you know she will like/use and some of the gifts can coordinate.

delilah146 :  Themes are great, but can also cause added stress if you can’t find the right thing and “licensed” products tend to cost more, just worth a thought.

I aw a beautiful colour scheme on insta the other day (it was actually for a 1st birthday but same same) which was emerald green, gold, forest green and a lighter green.  It was absolutely stunning and I want to steal it for something at some point.

You could also take a childrens book or well known toy such as paddington bear or care bears and take a colour scheme out of that, then just throw in a couple of themed items.

Does the mum-to-be have a theme for her nursery that she’s working on?  You could incorporate that.  Or a favourite childhood toy or something, to make it a bit more personal.

I would do a dark gray with pops of color and no actually theme. I’m not a fan of characters.

I think it’s really cute when people do a Bee theme with yellow.

delilah146 :  my shower had a game theme which was super cute! Little blocks and toys and stuffed animals. My work did a bee theme for me. For my friends we’ve done the children’s books theme and woodland animals. Really anything is pretty neutral if you just tone down the pink and blue – and you don’t need a theme if you don’t want. One thing they did for my shower which I thought was cute was a wall of family baby photos – all the way back to cousins, parents, grandparents, everyone they could get their hands on. My husband laughed so hard when he walked in and saw his own naked baby booty front and center hahahaha

delilah146 :  My SIL and stepson’s mom were between a Bee theme and a woodland animals theme.  We went with woodland animals.  It was super cute!
