Is there a family member that can lend her/his house for an afternoon?

Do you have room to place card tables in different spots?  I had to do this for Thanksgiving and my sister’s wedding shower at my house becuase I just didn’t have room for enough people in one room.

I have a small apartment too and yet the whole gang ends up at our place for Superbowl, so I’m an expert at fitting at least 20 people in a 650 sq ft apartment.

I clean everything really well before I start, then look for ways to reorganize our place. Our kitchen is empty (besides the appliances of course, lol) so I set up a folding table in there with the plates, cutlery, cups, drinks.

We have a living/dining room (one large room that serves both purposes). I remove the “dining table” chairs and line them up against a wall, push the table against the wall and that’s where our food goes. I remove our ottoman and coffee tables (ottoman is pushed up against the wall and serves as another seat, coffee tables go in the bedroom) so there’s more space to walk around.

I know you said it will be cold out, but even during Superbowl, I found a lot of the guys (the smokers at least) spent a lot of time outside so I now set up some chairs out there for them to hang out on.

If it ends up being too cramped, do you guys have a party room? We live in a simple (aka ghetto) apartment so we don’t, but if you’re living in a condo, they probably have a nice space for a cheap amount (where I used to live it was $50 for the room rental plus a security deposit you get back).

PS: Yay, congrats by the way!

@eecuadrado:  I think, in your case, you need to find somewhere to have it. Either at a friend’s house or a party room somewhere. 15-20 upstairs in our 3 bedroom, two bathrom house was cramped. I can’t imagine an apt with a living room and no dining room. You want your guests to be comfy. I would look into having it somewhere else.

Do you guys go to church or have a home church that you might be able to use? Churches often time either have free or very low fee to use their basement or dinner hall. I would look into being able to do that as a possibility.

@eecuadrado:  Paneras sometimes have private areas that you can book for use and it’s usually free.  We did this for a shower once and ordered a few trays of danishes and bagels and coffee.  It was really cheap but nice.

Does your apartment have a meeting room or lobby area? Ours had space to use if needed.
