I have vented about this woman before one here…this is the one that screamed and swore at me one day over a parking spot.
Well we still are not on the best of terms and my boss basically told me they weren’t going to do crap about it. So you can imagine how much I love my job right now.
Well my boss told me I am more competent then this other women and therefore work will be given to me over her. She basically does busy work all day.
Every morning she is here nice and early, but takes the first 20 minutes of the work day to eat her breakfast at her desk. Heats it up when she gets in and everything…while surfing the net. Then she spends the next 10 minutes flossing her teeth in view of everyone…just makes me gag is all.
Then she spend the rest of the day doing I don’t know what because all the work is being given to me because I am more competent and whenever I ask anyone in the office anything within earshot of her she inserts herself into the conversation.
If I am asking my boss how to handle a client of ours she wants all the background and dirt. I tell her I don’t want to relive it and just want and answer to how to solve the issue but she always asks more like “why are they doing that”, “well there must be some reason for them to do that” and just keeps probing until someone brakes down and tells her and then she gossips about it.
Anyways, just a general rant as I don’t want to be here today and she is already on my nerves.
Anyone else with super fun bosses or coworkers?

She flosses her TEETH at her desk? Oh my nasty – I can’t even… You poor dear. She sounds atrocious. However, the fact that your boss recognizes your hard work and competence and is aware of her incompetence is a good sign. Maybe in the near future, you can move up in the company and not have to deal with her at all?
I have been lucky on the co-worker front with the exception of a couple backstabbing b!tches and some girls that don’t know what to wear to an office, but that’s a topic for another thread…

@missjewels: I don’t understand how ppl like this stay employee. If you know she’s incompetent fire her!

@luvmesumhim: Yep. And she is so incompetent you cannot train her. I have typed out step by step notes for her to do things but she still “doesn’t get it” cause she has skipped a step and is too lazy to trace her mistake.
My distain for her really comes out in my tone and I try to control it but its just nuts.
She does my filing and when she was on holiday I had to retrieve some documents and found some items misfiled. I left a nice note explaining where they should go and ended with “thanks so much”. She gets back and with all this attitude is like “if you told me where to put it, it would be in the right spot I don’t purposely do this”.
I have told you where to put it, if you still can’t figure it out I may as well do it myself.

I have cray, cray at my job to. I try my best to simply ignore her. Some days are easier than others.

@MrsNewDay: Yep, after every meal for 10 minutes. You can hear the floss going in and out of her teeth. And she constantly sings/hums. I have started bringing in my ipod to drown her out, but most times I can hear her over my music unless I crank it to the point that I cannot hear if my bosses call me.

@missjewels: God bless you. I don’t have the patience.

Well, as incredibly annoying as that all must be, the good thing about this situation is that it sounds as if you’re doing a great job, and your boss recognizes your value to the organization. Congratuations for that!
If you are able to ignore all of the negatives associated with this coworker and focus on continuing to do your job well, you very likely will be rewarded in some manner (a promotion or raise) at some point in the future, even if it is with a different company.

@luvmesumhim: Thank you. I am looking for a new job but FI just got hired at his dream job so I am waiting for him to get through some of his probation before I switch. Just trying to get through the days without losing my mind.
BTW she is in the washroom peeing right now (washroom is next to my desk) and she is humming while she pees.

And this is why I love being a teacher — generally no adults around me. I get to my classroom way too early, I eat breakfast and I play on the internet (like right now). I may have to deal with attitudes of 10 year olds, but adult attitudes stop at the door.. (:

Flossing? Child’s play. We have men at work who clip their nails….their toenails!

One was on an 8 month leave for drinking on the job – caught multiple times (did I mention I work for a lagre system within the crminal justice system?)
Another one is currently on leave becuase people think she is going to shoot up the place (seriously)
One takes the pens/pencils, that we all use, and digs the ear wax out of his ears. This is why I bring my own.
I could go on all night….
