@Miss Lily: I remember how bad it was. The most random people would run up to my belly to touch it. Or say “are triplets in there!?”…daily.

At first I liked the attention. After that stage passed I would mean mug them until they walked away…

don’t worry, it won’t last forever but it sure is annoying while you’re pregnant!

Nope, you aren’t over reacting! People don’t get to touch you randomly just because you are pregnant.

Not okay! What if you weren’t pregnant?

On second thought, maybe you should scare the sh!t out of them by saying “what bump?” next time.

I’m really not looking forward to this. I’m still in the safe zone at 11 weeks right now but like you, I hate when people (strangers) invade my personal space.

It didn’t happen to me, except coworkers, and friends! haha. Maybe I look mean. But you have every right to say you feel uncomfortable with it, just like if you didn’t have a belly. People need to learn sooner or later, that you do not just touch people!

I don’t think I would care…I don’t know why, I just wouldn’t. However, I find it totally odd that people even do that. I would never go up to a random woman and touch her stomach, that’s insane!

Gah!  That would totally freak me out.  (It would also never occur to me to randomly start pawing another woman’s stomach.)

Seriously, I can’t imagine that I’d be able to overcome the urge to smack the hand of anyone groping my midsection.  Pregnant =/= Public Property.

So far I haven’t cared about this as much as I thought. But the bigger the bump gets, the more irritable I get so I’m assuming my opinions will change.

@Miss Lily:  Ask Darling Husband how he would feel if people started randomly grabbing his crotch to see how his sperm are coming along.

@Miss Lily:  “that’s just part of being pregnant.”

Gee, thanks, hon.  I can only assume you acquired this knowledge during your extensive time as a pregnant woman.

Oh, wait.

Anything else about the fact of pregnancy that you, a man, think I ought to know?

(In all seriousness, I’m sure your husband is a perfectly nice person.  I’m just feeling snarky.)

I never had anyone come up and touch my belly (which would have sent me over the edge cause I hate being touched!) but I once had someone come up to me and give me the number of their daughter in case she was what I wanted in an adoptive parent…. I was 19 not 15… I never felt so bad in my life =( She just stood there telling me about how great a parent her daughter would make and how she has been trying to adopt for 3 years. GAH
