They changed me from Avienne to this crap. I guess I can’t really call it crap because it works, but ever since starting it about 5-6 months ago I get bloated more frequently.

It’s an ok pill, but if it isn’t too much hassle I would switch to something else.

I was on Alesse, and I had constant spotting/discharge. It lasted for 2 years before I said something to my doctor. It was slight enough I could igore it for two weeks or so (out of the month), so I just didn’t complain.

I was on Allesse and it gave me a constant period (like almost two months in length), and made my skin HORRIBLE! I always had pretty clear skin and after taking Allesse for four months it took almost a full year to get my skin back to normal.

@megz06:  Same here!  I was on Aviane for a long time and really liked it and apparently they’ve quit making it now and I have been switched to Orsythia.

I don’t hate it (I’ve had other pills before that make my super hormonal, lots of pregnancy symptoms, awful).  Orsythia doesn’t do that but I don’t like it as well as I liked Aviane.  I feel more bloated on it and my period hasn’t been quite as super predictable as before.

@Mrs.KMM:  Agreed. I forgot about that too. I spot two weeks before my period whereas with Avianne I just spotted a few days before. Kind of sucks. I get more emotional earlier than i used to before my period as well.

I don’t have the generic one, but I just got Alesse 28 the other day, and now I’m worried too.    I’m starting it next month because I only have 2 months worth, but my whole purpose of getting it was to throw off my period for the vacation we’re going on in June.  Hopefully someone has good reviews of it.

@AlmostHisWife:  I was just switched to Orsythia this week. I was on Aviane for years and loved it – no problems what so ever.  Starting in the summer, my pharmacy had a hard time getting Aviane and they were switching me back and forth between birth control brands that were supposedly the “same” but all the switching definitely wreaked havoc on my skin.  I have FINALLY gotten my skin under control and they switched me again.  This is my first time taking Orsythia and I will definitely let you know how it goes! My fingers are crossed that it’s a smooth transition.

@AlmostHisWife:  Well I’m in my second month on Orsythia and, for the second time in a row, my period started at the beginning of the 3rd week of active pills.  🙁  Last time, it continued all the way through the sugar pill week so I’m anticipating the same thing here.

Guess it is time to call my OBGYN and get on a different pill.  Why did they have to stop making Aviane?!?  I liked it so much!

I was on Alesse for over 5 years, then switched to the generic brand and was on it for over 2 years. I never had any problems!
