My OBs office had a rep offering it to everyone for $99 because insurance doesn’t cover it for most people. There are many more out there than mat21 and panorama so ask your OB which one they use and then you might need to call your insurance to see if they cover it.

Mine didn’t cost anything since Insurance covered it.

The actual bill they sent to insurance was like $4k. My office had something going on where it was only $25 out of pocket though.

ugh we are trying to figure this out now.  i was told my insurance covered it but we just got a bill.  the company charged $3000, and after insurance, we were told we owe $750.  i’m hoping this isn’t correct.  we’re in the US.

We did Maternity 21- they billed my health insurance $2700, we received a bill for approx $500. This is what we we were quoted prior to the test, so this was not a shock, I have crappy health insurnace.

We did Mat21, I can’t remember what the bill was for, but after insurance we paid about $200. The bill had a crazy lag though, I think I had the test done in March, and didn’t get billed until the following January!

We were told it would cost us $300 – so we waited two weeks and went back for a gender scan instead.

I don’t know your age, but I was told insurance will cover genetic testing at 100% if you are over 35. We did Informaseq and it cost us nothing out of pocket due to my age.

So, you don’t necessarily need to do this screening.  I didn’t with my 1st pregnancy- the just did the standard nuchal screening at 13 weeks, which is usually covered.  I think I would only have been offered it if something had turned up abnormal there.

casualis :  That’s good news in my opinion 🙂 Because you’ll have to pay the deductible regardless. But I can also understand not wanting to have to pay a huge chunk of it all at once. Good luck bee!

I would call the actual company (Harmony etc) and ask them what your out of pocket costs would be if the insurance doesn’t cover it. Most of the companies offer it at a reduced cost (at least they did last year when I had it done).
