Hi! Even though I explain my story way too much, I figured that doing it in the proper thread wouldn’t hurt. 😉
I am 19 years old, and DBF just turned 18. Yes, you read that correctly – we started dating when I was a few months shy of 18 and he was 16; I was completing my senior year of high school, and he was toward the end of his sophomore year. About a year and a half later, I’m studying at a community college while DBF finishes up high school.
Anyway, despite our ages, we have been a highly committed couple from the start. The first year of our relationship included going long distance less than six months in, before I failed out of university due to feeling depressed, isolated, and homesick. DBF and I are also quite compatible; neither of us have had a better friend in our entire lives.
Technically, I classify myself as a waiting bee. No, DBF doesn’t have a ring in hand; we have discussed marriage quite thoroughly, and we know it’ll happen one day. Of course, that takes a leap of faith, and while I know there is still a chance that we may never end up together, I think of it as a technicality for the sake of never saying never.
Most likely, DBF and I will get engaged within the next two to three years, and marry another year or two after that. At this rate, we’ll still be students when he proposes, but we’re alright with that as long as we’ve graduated prior to our wedding.

Hopefully I’m not too late to join the convo. and I may not be entirely eligible to comment because I am not officially engeged yet.
I am 20 years now and my partner is 30.
I am currently studying in law school and my partner works in a warehouse. We’ve been in a relationship fore about 2 and a half years and We have been talking about getting marries ever for a long time.We decided that we would get officially engaged when I am near finishing my studies (that isn’t in a good 2 years) and so he can save a bit of money to settler down comfortably. .
ALso, my partner is more comfortable to wait till i turn 21 and he is saving money to settle down. That being said, my parents wouldn’t be happy if I get engaged before then.
so I am patiently waiting my turn

I’m a little late joining the conversation, but it’s just so encouraging to meet all of you! I’m 21, from the Martitimes and not yet technically enganged, but my boyfriend and I have started planning our summer wedding.
We’ve been dating about 5 years, and have been long distance for about 2. I’m finishing my last year of my undergrad, and my boyfriend (also 21) is a firefighter. We’re planning on moving to Alberta following the wedding, and I’m hoping to eventual work in a non profit organization.
I’m a huge history nerd, I love Will Ferrall movies, and I can’t wait to marry my best friend!
It’s so nice to meet you all!

@truitjen: I know you posted your first comment 2 years ago, and might not even see this, but I thought it was crazy that I also got engaged when I was 17, I was almost 19 when I got married, and you named off my favorite tv shows and I love the movies you mentioned! Very nice choices 😉 hahaha

Hey Yall! My names Morgan! My husband and I met my freshman year in Highschool, dated really briefly (broke up for religious differences that were hard), stayed super close friends and my senior year in High School we started dating again. The summer before I started college we got engaged, I was 17 and he was 18 (our Birthdays were 3 months later) After a lot of convincing and judgment, support from almost everyone finally came and a year after our engagement we were married at 18 and 19 years old! We’ve been married for four months now and its hard, but the best decision I’ve made!!! I still hear a lot of people telling me Im to young, but the people who matter support us and everyone who sees us together KNOWS that theres no way there could be a better match for either of us. Oh and I love showing off pictures so… heres a few 🙂

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but I wish to join!
I am 16, and I hail from the strange and mysterious incredibly dull island of Tasmania. I live in a small town on the north west coast, and I am studying to be a historian

@MadsTheGallifreyan: I never would have pegged you to be that young! Hope I don’t sound like a stalker but I enjoy your posts! 🙂
